Here's some background information first:
Age: early 20's
Age hair loss began: 16

I am 20 years old and I start losing my hair when I was
16 years old. In the middle of October 2006(18 years old) I
lost a lot of hair (diffused thinning) in my frontal area
and it was very obvious. In the middle of November 2006 I
started using regaine 5% extra strength for men and until
10th of January 2007(2,5 months on treatment) I had regrown
my hair back that I lost and nobody could thing that I was
balding before. My mother couldn't believe it. Unfortunately
due to redness and itching of scalp, I made the wrong to
stop the regaine. Then, since 10th of April 2007 I
understood that regaine was the only treatment that helped
me to regrew my hair back so I started it again for 4 months
until the middle of August 2007 but no difference was seen
and I haven't regrown the hair that I lost after stopping
regaine. Until February 2008 I tried lots of other
treatments that didn't helped me. In the end of February
2008, I started propecia & nizoral shampoo 2% and in June
2008 I started again regaine 5% extra strength for men, to
see if it will helped as before 2 years. Also since 4th of
August 2008 I started Proxiphen and Nano shampoo.
I would like to know why when I used regaine 5% extra
strength for second time in 10th of April 2007 I haven't
seen the regrowth that I saw the first time I used it on
November 2006? I would like to tell me if the combination I
use now with propecia , regaine 5% extra strength,
Proxiphen, nizoral 2% and nano shampoo will help me to
regrowth my lost hair and if it will have the same
effectiveness as I had with regaine 5% extra strength that
I used it for first time? I also read that the use of
Retin-A can triple the absorption and effectiveness of
minoxidil(regaine) if it is used once a day, probably at
night before regaine 5%. If I also use Retin-A is it best
for the regrowth results and for the effectiveness of
regaine 5% or it's better to avoid Retin-A because proxiphen
also contains tretinoin(Retin-A).

nizoral, propecia and minoxidil (regaine) is your best chance to regrow or maintain hair .
you dont have to use the retin A if you already use proxiphen.

OH tnx. But why now the second time I used regaine 5% for 4 months didn't have the same regrowth as the first time I used it ?Did my hair follicles got used to regaine and they don't react?

Tnx again man... Because of the fact that regaine 5% didn't work the second time I used it, I thought that my hair follicles had died. But do you think Dr.Lee's xandrox 15% or his minoxidil 12,5% will help me better than regaine 5%? Or it's better to continue with regaine 5% which I use (and in combination with propecia , nizoral and proxiphen)?

i dont think you should start 15% or 12.5% yet . propecia+nizora+regain 5% should give you the optimal results but you have to give it time . at least 6 month.
and take some pictures like every month or so . it will help you see if the treatment works for you .

Tnx man for your support, I wil continue this treatment and hope all go well....I just scared if my hair follicles died because after the second time I used it(for 4 months) I haven't seen any difference as the first time I used it(for 3 months and I regrew all my hair) , but as you say it(the regaine5%)might need more time to work, as now which I am using it for 2 months.

oh right i forgot . if a hair follicle died meaning its not producing hair then no treatment will bring him back to life . you said you were thining so you dont have areas on your scalp that are slik bald right ? that means that the follicles are just minituarized so there is still hope for those follicles .

Now I am not shedding a lot and that's I think because I am using propecia for 5 months. Also my head hasn't bald areas , there are just tinning hair ,which can better seen in light that they are thin.

Here are my 3 pics, I am not having bald areas but thin hair.I hope as you said that regaine will need more time to work than the first time I used it for 3 months.I just got scared because in the website of regaine was saying that results are noticable within 8 weeks, and there are 2 months now, but I am sure that I have to be patient, as it will need more time.

Hey man, you hair loss looks really similar to mine! But I have blonde hair..so it just looks a little less noticable since people think i just got fine hair.

I heard that once a folicle is dead, it does not grow back :( but, thing is...Ive looked at a lot of pictures and stories on this website, and think that it can actually happen but maybe the folicles are in the resting stage.

I started on finasteride, miniox and nizoral. Its not been long since i started them, but im staying positive (positive mental attitude man) I think it will help a lot if you stay positive!

I also take MSM 300mg, 2000mg Vitamin C, Omega 3 and Zinc suplements on the side.

Good luck with your fight against male pattern baldness!

Keep us updated.

Help , Any advise for minoxidil.......

Hi guys

I am back to update my profile and ask your opinion about something that worries me.(I am 20 years old)
I am on the regimen below:

propecia & nizoral: 8,5 months
regaine 5%: 5 months
and proxiphen: 2,5 months

As I told you before I made the big mistake to stop regaine 5% for 5 months due to itching and I lost the hair that I gained that covered all my head (as I was 14 years old). I started again regaine 5% for 5 months now in combination with proxiphen, but I don't see the regrowth that I have seen when I had first used regaine.
I am thinking of stopping proxiphen and regaine 5% and starting xandrox 5% in the morning and 15% at night because I was a good responder to regaine before but now I am not seeing any regrowth. I think that xandrox will work for me because it has the minoxidil of regaine that worked for me, but in higher concentration.
Is it better to add xandrox in my regimen and stop regaine and proxiphen or to add xandrox and continuing proxiphen? or is it better to wait until the summer and decide if I will change the regimen.
Sorry for the big text below, I want to add xandrox because I think that it's that only drug that contains the minoxidil of regaine in higher concentration that regrew my hair before, so I don't want to waste any more time until the summer to make a change in my regimen because some hair that can regrow with xandrox might die until next summer

Thanks again
Please help me do the best, because it worries me a lot

any answers are acceptable

It doesn't matter when you use the Retin-A in relation to the minoxidil. Retin-A assists the absorption of topical minoxidil even if they're separated by 12 hours (see the second item in my signature file).

Proxiphen contains an insignificant amount of Retin-A. Don't rely on Proxiphen as a source for that drug.
