Hello all. I'd like opinions on whether my hairline is definitely receding or not. I realize that you wouldn't be here unless you had experienced some sort or hair loss yourselves, and so most of you would probably tell me to err on the side of caution. That might be right, but I don't have a lot of money to spend of treatments that could be unnecessary, and anyway why risk the side effects if I have time to wait and see where things are going?
That said, the first three pictures at the bottom are of my hair wet and combed back so that you can clearly see the hairline. (I attached the photos in the wrong order, so start from the bottom) The fourth is my hair dry and parted on the side to show as much of my head as possible.
Now, this looks to me like a N2 or possibly N3, but I have some reasons to hope that my hairline isn't receding after all. Until recently I always kept my hair pretty long and almost never bothered to brush it or even think about it, so it's hard to tell where my hairline was, though I remember it being very high. But looking through some old pictures I found two from about 2 1/2 years ago where my hair was brushed aside so that it was possible to see my hairline, and it looks to be at about the same level. The last picture is me trying to imitate the position of the other pictures for comparison.
Family history isn't much help, since by bad luck I don't have any living adult male blood relatives.
So am I going bald very slowly? not at all? Or is it impossible to tell? Could my hairline really just be that high? And should I try to treat it just to be safe, or give it some time?
Thanks for any help.
