Dear friends!

This is my first post here.
I have come to the conclusion, that I am slowly but surely going bald.
All men in my family without exception had a badly receding hairline after hitting age 30, my dad is in his 50s and would propably considered to be a NW5.

I never had a nice hairline and honestly never cared(dumb mistake, I know).
My gf recently mentioned how my hairline has been receding noticably and suggested I'd do something about it.
I attached a couple of comparison pictures(short hair approx age 19, slickback a few weeks ago, exposing my terrible hairline).

I suppose Im a NW2/early NW3 - is that correct?
If you were in my shoes which treatments in what order would you go through?
finasteride before minoxidil or straight to a hair transplant?
At which age would a hair transplant even make sense?

My goal is to maintain a somewhat acceptable appearance before hitting 35, I sincerely do not care about scarring from hair transplant surgery.

Thank you very much in advance for the replies!

Dude you have a great hairline and are at the worst Norwood 2. Maybe 1.5. Get on finasteride it will help maintain your hair.

You are neither balding nor having a receding hairline. It seems that your hairline is maturing. Don't worry too much. Just follow simple healthy habits like good diet- balanced diet, minimal outings, adopt a healthy lifestyle, sufficient sleep, keep addictions away & don't experiment with your hairs- too much ironing or like that. And as you mentioned you have a family history, then precaution is better than cure, always. Go to qualified dermatologist and seek an advice. I hope this helps. If you need any help, then let me know. Thank you!

Mate you have no hair loss at all. And you are faaaaar away from being a nw3. You look like a natural nw2.

I think that your long haired style emphasized your hairline, the way you had it slicked back to each side. This is only coz your hairline isn't completely square, you have a small bit of receding temples which is pretty normal
