Question Regarding Polymer Bonding In Hair Systems

In the near future I plan to try out the hair system route with a reputable salon in my city and I have the funds to do so

They tell me they attach via strong polymer glue at the back of the piece

My question is - will this bonding damage or kill off my existing hair underneath ?

I'm not a straight up NW5+ yet - my situation is more of a strong NW2 with extreme diffuse thinning, so there's still some hair there

This is the Hair Club type of bond, which is intended to stay in place for a month at a time. I did that for about 8 months when I first started wearing. It didn't damage my hair in that time, but I wouldn't be keen to to do it in the long term. But I am neither a scientist nor a medic; this is just my gut reaction.
