I had a sexual side for a short time(about 3 weeks I guess), they went away.

All is good, I love the stuff. Good results here.

How's this: My FUCKIN penis stopped working. :) And, I had no idea of the potential side effects. I never knew about them before I started taking Propecia, so it isn't like I imagined them or brought them upon myself.

No issues what so ever, never heard of any from many doctors I spoke with as well. I love the stuff, its like I'm not taking anything at all.

I hate the bad publicity about Porpecia on this site mainly because it has no significant basis. Obviously it can produce sides in a very few men but for the other million or so it works great. Took anti depressants in the past that had more sexual sides than this stuff and no one ever complained about that.

Red,

When I reached the 6 month mark on propecia, I had no side effects whatsoever.. I jerked off like twice a day and was doing well...

Went on anti depressants (aropax) in August and now I can still get it up with some effort but it is so hard to climax.

I heard that excessive ejaculating can be a bad thing for hair so not too worried by it...

I take 2.5mg a day and i'm still horny as a 15 year old reading a victorias secret catalogue.

I think the Jacking off thing is BS, read many articles and pulling your pud is supposedly good for hair growth. I was on Zoloft and could not come especially when I mixed it with booze. I dumped that sh*t though.

It is to bad that an extremely small percentage of guys get serious sides from Propecia but this is way off the norm, I to know tons of guys on the stuff without any complaints.

been on it for 9 months, hair is in great shape, certain parts of hair have almost doubled in thickness, no sexual side effects - BUT- I now have gyno, which is growing female breasts. Basically i have a lump in one of my pectorals.

I have always had fatty pecs, so i guess i had a predisposition towards it.

I am definately one to say that propecia is relatively safe. I have stopped propecia for this reason, but may be going back on soon...depends how this gyno resolves.

Dude I dont think it is the propecia you probably just produce excessive estrogen. Get some Nolvadex or legal OXO from Ergopharm. Though now that its set in maybe it to late.

I have done a lot of reading on this, and I have come to the conclusion that yes more then the 2% experience side effects.. however!.. many of the side effects will go away after your body has had a chance to adjust to the drug! the sexual side effects are treatable with L-arginine, and will go away after a period. How long you will experience these effects is anyones guess because everyone's body is completely different. If you ride out the side effects in the mean time, you will be fine. If, after 8 months or so of usage, the side effects are still evident and you can not live them then you may discontinue with other treatments such as topical treatments that eliminate DHT. In the mean while, propecia is one of the best treatments we availble, so give it a shot.

In summary, many people who experience a lowered libido in the beginnings quit the drug without riding it out and then write how it.. if I may quote HairLossTalk.com.. 'made their peter fall off'..

i was on it for nearly three months and quit because i was losing interest in sex.

maybe i'm one of those guys that "didn't ride it out" but to me, its just too un-natural.

Look what happens when you get a newbie in here, who hasn't spent the last 12 months of his life listening to people complain on hair loss forums, and doesn't consider hair loss forum personal opinions the "way to gauge reality". You get the viewpoint of the *REAL* majority out there, living their lives, with absolutely no problems. This reflects my experiences too growman. I know several guys using propecia "offline" and absolutely none of them have had any problems. Welcome to the forums growman.

Got sore nuts after the first month but only lasted a few weeks
this sex drive thing is crazy??
, I think losing your hair makes you lose your sex drive as it can be epressing
as my hair is starting to look better i feel better about the way i look and happier and also more intrested in sex

so i think
losing hair = lower sex drive
growing hair = higher sex drive

just my theory, what do you guys think

i think that taking propecia messes around with the hormones, which can in effect lower the sex drive in a small percentage of people. Me personaly mine is as high as its ever been, and on my 4th month and still getting better progress everyday.

Unless the study is double-blind, any findings are not relevant. The mind is a powerful thing.
