Hi All,

I am a skin weaver recently tried using french lace, I removed my system today to clean n found the hair seeping through the lace mesh? is it normal? Do I need to cut it or just leave it? is there any way to avoid this?

please suggest

Hi Manny

It is common, but it is not desirable, and its best to try to avoid it. Once the hairs are through to the wrong side of the base all you can do is cut them off - it's not practical to try to get them back.

There are usually 2 reasons why this happens: (1) you are pulling the system off your head without properly releasing the adhesive with isopropyl alcohol; or (2) you are washing or rinsing the system under a stream of water which is washing the hairs through the lace.

If you always take care to release the adhesive fully before removing your unit, and you always wash and rinse your unit holding the non-hairy side of the base upwards, you will reduce this happening and it won't be a problem.

Isopropyl alcohol (also sometimes called surgical spirit) is the active ingredient in most types of lace release - they are basically alcohol plus scent. You can save a bit of money by buying 99% isopropyl alcohol in a big bottle from DIY shops or pharmacies.
