p**rn, not finasteride, is probably the cause for your erectile dysfunction

Has this ever been demonstrated in a placebo controlled study? Otherwise, you could say going to Hawaii caused ED/Libido issues.

I might be misunderstanding what you wrote there, but how can you have a placebo for quitting p**rn and fapping? Like, you think you've stopped those things, but in actuality, you were subconsciously still doing them all along?

Read the experiences from the online communities I posted below. It's from people addicted to p**rn/fapping, most of whom have some level ED. From their experiences with quitting p**rn/fapping, it's pretty much the consensus that stopping those things will improve erection strength.

top gone, have you noticed any negative impact on your hair since you have stopped fapping/p**rn? Maybe it's a sign of increase in hormone levels (test,dht..)

Interesting discussion.

I actually gave up p**rn after I read yourbrainonporn.com and a few other sites aforementioned -- also, I wasn't happy with my integrity pursuing women nor my erection strength. I still crank one out in the shower once or twice a week though (spank bank).

It's easy to tap into p**rn whenever you're a little bit horny, and I think it could possible have some negative effects on your perception of women and relationships. I definitely get the urge to watch it, but I have no problem resisting.

Anyways, I find that if I haven't cranked one out a few days before the weekend, I'm much more motivated and integrated out in the social scene. Don't get me wrong -- I gotta get off at least once a week, but I like doing it without visual aid if it's not the real deal.

I never used finasteride but I suffer from E.D. and I hope this will help me because this explanation of E.D. for young people seems very logical.

Yeah, yourbrainonporn.com is a great site. It pretty much started this whole p**rn discussion with a lot of scientific data. And yes, ED isn't the only reason one should stop with p**rn/fapping. If you're either pursuing women or in a relationship, it will help out a great deal. I'm in a long-term relationship and quitting this addiction has helped to bring me closer to my gf (not just in the bedroom). When you stop objectifying women to the extend that we do with p**rn, you end up valuing the things you have with your gf/wife that much more. Plus you probably end up spending more quality time with them since you're not fapping anymore :p.

Esthe, yeah good chance your ED is from p**rn (if you're into that stuff, but what guy isn't?). Quitting ain't easy though man, unless you weren't that addicted. If you're truly serious about this, I recommend those sites I mentioned at the top of this page for support. Good luck!

Nope, in fact, it's been quite the opposite. Hair got thicker but I do notice I'm getting more grey hair. The grey hair could be due to stress with work and age though (I'm 32) and the thicker hair could be due to me increasing my Saw Palmetto dosage. Can't say for sure.

The problem with p**rn, or even movie sex, is it gives unrealistic representations of sex. For the most part you'll never attain what you see others attaining in those videos and you constantly compare your performance to those you're watching.

I think it's even on a more fundamental level than that. Watching a ton of p**rn simply desensitizes you to anything sexual. With p**rn, you instantly get the hottest girls doing basically anything you want them to do, and when you get too much of that even real life sex becomes dull.

I've seen such a huge improvement. My libido is increased, stamina, orgasm quality, and I feel overall i'm way better in bed because of it. Though the only downfall is with increased libido and excitement, it can be harder to hold back orgasm.. but that all comes with practice!

I don't want to transform this hair loss forum to an e.d. forum but I must say that I'm very hopeful from this kind of treatment. And it's interesting (maybe ironic) to find a solution (so I hope) to my e.d. while I was searching if I should go with finasteride. it's encouraging. Thank you very very very much top gone for this thread. I'll try to not take finasteride while I am in the process of reboot but after, at least, it will be discussable. I will finish with a question maybe provocative: is it possible that finasteride block or damage this kind of stimulation of brain while erection?

I have no idea if p**rn causes ED or not but I take those studies seriously.

One thing's for sure: I don't like it anymore. I only watch p**rn when I have nothing else to do, I don't find it exciting and even when I do watch it, it doesn't last more than one or two minutes.

I don't advocate censorship but the mere thought of spending money on p**rn is an aberration to me.

For anyone having trouble kicking the habit, block the sites and keywords for p**rn on your router. Or if using firefox, use the Blocksite extension.

I actually recommend installing K9 Web Protection on your computer for those looking to quit. It's free and it's great for blocking pretty much all the p**rn sites from any browser. It also forces a safe search on google and youtube too.

It's not going to work miracles though, meaning you'll have to practice self restraint on your own too. You can easily disable K9 with a password that you make, so trust me, when your brain is on p**rn-mode, you'll think of any reason you can to justify disabling it and get right back into it.

Hey top gone! How are you with your hair? Going strong? I've always the fear of increase androgen of no fap/p**rn seeing my libido higher. Are you refraining totally from it (masturbation without ejaculation) aside from sex? You have answered me before but from time to time I want to be sure about long term effect no pmo on your/our hair.

I'm curious about Wuffer also? How your hair are?

Thanks in advance

Hey Iloveindie, I think I may have already answered this, but no negative effects on my hair from no pmo. In fact, it has gotten thicker but that's probably due to upping my saw palmetto dosage. Could be due to both though, who knows? In case you're curious, I posted my success story recently here: http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interac...ccess-with-Hair-Loss-Treatments-after-7-Years

And yes, I am abstaining from p**rn and fapping so the only time I ejaculate is during sex. I admit though, I'm not perfect, and I do relapse from time to time. But overall it's been a drastic improvement from how I was before. I'm still not giving up on my goal to stop completely though, so even though I've been relapsing, it's been less and less as time goes by.

isnt that like a browser for kids? i could be wrong

i actually prefer blocking through the router for the very reason that it takes too much trouble to go to your router and enable those sites again, but hey whatever works. its actually helped me a ton, but your right self restraint is gonna be priority

top gone I guess you're not edging (fapping without ejaculation). Sorry if I ask so many questions to you but I want to be sure because there is a lot of difference between complete no fap and fapping without ejaculation.
I'm trying too to get over this "addiction" not only for hair (I hope it will help something) but also not waste so much time on this useless practique.
Thank you for sharing your story.

Yeah, I can see it mainly being used as a parental tool so you can install it on your kids computer but then freely access p**rn from your own, lol. The reason I went with K9 and not the router route was because I share my internet with other adults who aren't too thrilled with the idea of blocking sites and also because I take my laptop and sleepover at friends/relatives places frequently (Don't wanna be tempted while I'm there). To make it hard on myself to disable K9, I created a long random alpha-numeric password, wrote it down on a small piece of paper, hid it in the middle of a thick book, then placed that book in an inconvenient spot. Yeah, I don't trust myself.

Iloveindie, yes, I'm not edging either (not counting the relapse moments). And no worries about all the questions, I'm glad to help. On the other hand though, one tip I'd give to you is to not even think about NOT looking at p**rn because obviously, you're still thinking of it which will lead to right back on the path of addiction. So as much as I do like to help people and discuss about this, I'm still not strong enough to spend that much time doing those things because the urges may come right back. So I apologize if I may not respond for the longest time. But if you really do need support then go on the reddit.com/nofap and yourbrainrebalanced sites. There's more than enough online support there. Good luck!
