I have become a bit obsessive over the past few months regarding possible hair thinning / receding. I feel like I've always had a pretty unflattering hairline, however I am not sure if it's always been to this extent . However, I do know for certain that I've always had a widows peak, although I am not sure that the hairline of my temples was always so ill-defined. Because I used to have very long hair in middle school and then began wearing a buzz cut fade for most of high school, I didn't really notice this until I grew the top of my hair out the past year or two. I want to say that my hair always has felt very fine, although contrary to that a hairstylist recently said I had thick hair (this was at Great Clips, not an professional salon, so she might be incorrect). Recently since I started using pomade and fiber to style my hair I have noticed around 3-5 longer strands come out in my hands as I washed my hair, which I wonder if this could be caused by the stickiness of the products making the hairs stick to my hands and making it more noticeable then before.
Anyway, I have attached a current picture of myself as well as a very young picture of me to compare and gather opinions. However, I do realize that in the younger picture, my hair was indeed combed a bit forward so the true hairline (especially around the temples) is a bit concealed, while the new picture my true hairline is one hundred percent exposed. Despite this slight change in hairstyles, judging from the pictures, would you say my hair receding or thinning?
