Not Even Two Months On Finasteride Need Suggestions

I’ve went from some crown thinning to extremely diffused scalp in not even 2 months. I’m already a hat prisoner and I’m starting to think what’s the point of staying with finasteride if I’m not even happy if I maintain what I have now?

Does anyone have any stories of going far below baseline within this short time period and then getting back to baseline or even better? I’ll attach two pics, notice how one shows how diffused the rest of my hair is, first one was around baseline, other two were taken recently.

In your recent pictures your hair is wet, and that always makes your hair look a lot worse. Take another with dry hair and in the same place with the same lighting then upload your baseline side by side to your recent one.. That way we can properly see how you're coming along .

First was taken today, second was taken around baseline. However, the issue isn’t the crown. I never took baseline images of how diffused my whole scalp was because it simply wasn’t concerning at the time. Now my whole entire scalp is diffusing in a heavy nw6 pattern and I’m not sure where to go from here. Third photo is me just moving some hair to the side.

I’m way overdue on a haircut, I know, but I know this length is covering a lot and I’m extremely worried what the a new haircut would look like.

Edit: also my hair was wet (maybe not very wet) in the first baseline photo

If the first photo was taken today you have definitely improved, I don't know why you can't see that.

The long hair makes it difficult to judge properly.

Andy, my hair has rapidly diffused when I really didn’t see much sign of diffusing when I first started. To be honest I’m not even as concerned about my crown anymore. My whole scalp is screwed now! When I get a haircut I’ll update you guys for sure.

Should I add anything to my regimen? I’m still shedding hairs everywhere (although my shower count dropped a bit) so I’m worried about minoxidil.

Don't add in anything new yet, give your treatments at least a year before using something else.

Stay on finasteride if you can tolerate it and wait for a year. You will probably regrow some hair and maintain for a long time. It looks almost normal the way it is in the latter pictures.

Guys, this was me after wearing my hat today. Lighting and thinning compressed by a hat is bad news. Drunk right now so I don’t really care but I’m definitely gonna have to get a system soon. finasteride can’t regrow this sh*t unfortunately.

Edit: ran out of toppik last week and my shipment hasn’t come in. Wondering if I can still kinda hide it with toppik.

You hair doesn't look too good. If Finasteride hasn't worked in 2 months, it's practically game over. Have you thought of just shaving it all off, getting a tan & working out?

That was sarcasm??? Should I cancel my hair club for men appointment? I need answers
Yeah cancel that sh*t, not owning your baldness is for COWARDS! Just shave it bro, get a tan & turn into a nice shade of orange like George Hamilton! And while you're at it, start a Cell-Tech regimen and hit the gym to BULK UP!

My crown is worse than yours, at nearly six months in to treatment i still haven't noticed any results give it a year minimum. Im also losing density all over but that might be from stopping minoxidil in april.

You should probably add either topical rosemary oil, or(better) RU58841 to the mix. Finasteride halts hair loss within weeks for some people(me), but in others it can allow massive sheds for 6 months. And that hair doesn't always come back.

Why not minoxidil?

Why not minoxidil?
I suggested two things that may help stop his current shedding. He may not even need to use them after a couple of months.

minoxidil causes a shed in most men. So when OP is already losing handfuls of hair, adding even more shed might land him in the Norwood 4 range, even if it is temporary and comes back. I'd only add minoxidil after his shedding stops. Plus, minoxidil is a lifelong commitment. Any positive effect it has, demands continued use. You can use RU58841 to get a shed under control in 1-2 days, and only continue using it for a week before stopping. I've used it like that on several occasions. That's really the main thing I use it for.

My shedding has decreased a bit I believe but I think it’s only because I’ve already lost so much density...

Idk how it’s possible to lose this much density in only two months (pic). I’m unhappy with how my hair is now, so I almost feel as if everything here is useless for me. If I would be able to get back to baseline I’d be happy.

This has to be Telogen Effluvium right? I’m not saying that in hopes of it returning but for someone who didnt really have signs of balding a few months ago to this can’t just be male pattern baldness?

Is your scalp itching?

If not I think you’re fine man, sounds like shedding is coming under control
