Assuming good density and NW1.5 hairline, I'd rather the balding crown. Second would be receding hairline. Diffuse thinning is the absolute worst, and leaves you with no viable styling options.

I'd rather have no hair loss. But if I had to choose, I would choose a bald spot in the back. Diffuse thinning and receded hairline both look terrible, and you can't hide those, you just have to shave it off. You can put toppik on a bald spot or combover or where a ponytail to hide it.

Receding hairline is hardest to hide, but diffuse looks like sh*t too.

Sort of, the first ~50% or so of diffusion is apparently invisible to most people.

The first 4 inches of a receding hairline? You become an old creeper.
