Nizoral/Not Wasing

I had a question regarding nizoral. It is recommended to use every 3 days.
What should we use the other days? My wife is a stylist and was told that washing your hair everyday was bad for your hair.

What is the consensus?

Do you use the nizoral 2% or 1%?
Would this alone work from what you are saying, or do you combine with others like yourself?

I use nizoral 2% every third day as it is pretty strong on the scalp, and I wash my hair at least once per day (whether it be with Aveda, Nioxin, or NANO shampoo).

My nizoral application is always followed up with a good conditioner to keep the inflammation down.
