hi guys I'm going to get on minoxidil again. Here's my question. Because of my thyroid problem I get all my prescriptions free. Does this mean if I get a script for regaine I can it free? In theory yes but minoxidil is alot dearer than most Scripts. Anyone know??

If its like in the US, insurance will not pay for cosmetic treatments even its hair loss due to your thyroid.

In the UK theres no insurance. it was £6.50 when paying for a script. Its now £3. So anytime your ill and get a script its just down to the pharmacy and pay the £3 and get your stuff. Theres few conditions though that grants ppl free scripts. Im ne of them as hypothyroidism is one of them. So instead of £3 i just get it all free. As regaine was a dearer price than £3 for a script i kind of thought it wouldnt be free. However i might try and see. I was told by the doctor i wont pay for a script ever again.

Sure sounds worth trying. Even paying 3 quid (per bottle?) would be a saving.

I wonder if you'll be limited to claiming one bottle a month? Only I get through one every 25 or so days, and that's on a once-a-day regime.

WTF.!?

NHS ...National Health service. Free health care unless it cosmetic. I find it odd when i hear the yanks coming on here saying they paid £150 quid for a derm appoitment. All thats free here.

Ah, I get it, sorry. Still, you DO have insurance in the UK, it's just that you can choose the national "free" system (the NHS, which everyone's taxes pay for) or your own private company (which your monthly premium pays for). It just depends on what level of service you want..

But yeah, it is crazy that the US is the only "rich" nation on the planet without a national system!
