I am a 20 year old male. I have never thought about it before, but my hair has always been on the thinner side, and I have always ignored the problem. However recently I believe the hair loss has gotten too extreme to ignore and need to start treatment. I do not know what kind of hair loss I am suffering from though and would like some opinions on it. I have bald spots on the side of the head and on top? I would like to know what type of hair loss is mine, how serious is it and what kind of treatment I should take. Thank you.

Attached are some pictures of my hair. (face blocked out for privacy issue)

That's male pattern baldness. You look Asian.. If so you have already won. Your loss seems to be at the crown and luckily that is the place where finasteride works best! It also seems that Asians respond best to the treatment. A study done in Japan using dutasteride boasted a 100% success rate! If I were you I would buy some finasteride immediately. You are pretty much guaranteed to at the very least maintain the hair you have.

Hi. If I have male pattern baldness, can you tell me what Norwood scale I am at right now? Also for the hair loss on the side, it does not look like male pattern baldness to me, at least from the info I found online. Is it another hair problem?

male pattern baldness doesn't always follow the norwood chart. You have crown loss, that much is evident.
Wow, is true?
Do link to study!
I'm busy right now so I can't link but it shouldn't be hard to find using Google!
