Hello,

I'm new to the forum, and im hoping someone here could recognise what is going on with my hair lately.

So i have recently been losing a lot of hair lately. I started counting about a week ago, and i estimate that i lose between 150-200 strands of hair a day. Mostly in the shower, where i lose 120+.

I cant figure out why this is going on, and i dont know if it is male pattern baldness. yes, a lot of it seems to be coming from the crown of my head (which is also itchy - not all the time but more than my sides would be itchy for example).

I have identified a number of possible reasons and hopefully i can get some advice on which is most likely to be causing my hair loss:
- i have dry scalp. I am quite certain its not dandruff but dry scalp, as i read dandruff means your scalp is often red. Anyways, if i ruffle my hair i can see small white flakes fall. However, my hair gets oily easily, even though i have dry scalp. So this means not shampooing is sadly out of the question.
- my hair loss started up (to my notice) when i started a job where i was in an air conditioned environment for over 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. Could it be that it was too dry? I was there for about 2 months, and i've stopped now. But my hair loss is still ongoing
- i read that hair loss in autumn tends to be more? but i moved to a tropical climate 3 months ago so the weather is still very hot. im really hoping its seasonal hair loss but i tthink that it is unlikely
- male pattern baldness. my grandfather on my moms side i think had hair even when he was 90+ years old, but my dad's father had male pattern baldness. My dad started thinning quite visibly in his late forties. He is 50+ now and the baldness is not super prominent. I am 24 this year so im not sure if this is likely.
- my diet. i eat quite unhealthily, but as i dont cook, i dont have much choice as i need to buy cheap food.

Finally, the strands of hair that are falling out do not have a white bulb. So i read that this means it cant be telogen effluvium, which i was also hoping it was, as its supposed to be temporary.

Thank you for reading and any responses.

95% of the time it is male pattern baldness so it most likely is male pattern baldness. Dont kid youself, dont deny it.Upload some pics so we can see.
