If you dont have sides, don’t stop.

I feel like me posting this is going to mean nothing because others have told you the same thing but here it goes.

shedding does not imply balding. You need to render that in your head.

Secondly the lighting you’re using its not realistic. Post something in broad daylight, no flash. Even buzzed it does not look like that. You simply have fine straight hair and that’s why you see your scalp ... take pictures of the side of your head with flash it will look like the top of your head.

Is your crown thinning, yes. However not that bad right now. You still have a <=NW2 hairline and good density. Either stick to finasteride only or add some form of minoxidil/microneedling for growth.

I agree with Wacc, considering how well diffused crown thinners tend to respond to either/both minoxidil and dermarolling I don't think you should throw in the towel quite yet.

@DerDon

I don’t think you are balding.

Your hair is very similar to mine in colour and type. Dark, straight and fine.

My hair at angles displays scalp, particularly at certain angles and where the hair changes direction at the crown.

When it is short, this becomes even more noticeable.

I noticed this in my mid to late 20’s. Now in my early 40’s my hair is exactly the same.

A few years back, I saw a derm and hair transplant specialist ( paranoia ) who inspected my hair and told me I had really food hair with a higher density than most, yet it still looks like yours.

Just because you can see scalp from a variety of angles with light on your head, or through a camera, it does not always equate to balding.

Hair type, texture, colour / scalp contrast are just a fee factors that play a part here.

Finasteride will not make any difference to the above if that is the natural quality of your hair and you are not balding - which I don’t thing you are.

He has clear sign of diffuse thinning. There is a T sign forming on his scalp when buzzed, which mostly happens to diffuse thinners

Those pictures are showing the thinning really good imo.
Two with flash, one without.
Hairline still intact, but crown and middle part are f*cked.

For a diffuse thinner, you lasted quite long with all the shedding. I have a similar pattern to yours, but with recession at hairline and temples

@DerDon

Possibly but the areas which look thinner appear to have been cut shorter and due to the rounding of the skull, are standing upright, allowing light to penetrate and bounce of your scalp.

If you move your head under light, you may notice that this effect happens across all of your hair, as your head rotates, with it being more prominent where the hair changes direction.

You’ll see the same in Children with short hair.

I’m not saying stop treatments or anything like that. Perhaps just investigate the points I have made and draw your own conclusions.

I could be completely wrong and ultimately you will know best.

Anyway, I wish you nothing but the best with your hair.

I have been using a couple of simple methods that have stopped my hair loss since my hair transplant.
Every case is a different case and I think all comes down to common sense but if you would like to have a look, here is my blog where I describe my experiences along the past 3 years with photos.

Hello together, its been a while since i last posted no this forum. Im still using 1.25 mg finasteride per day. Tbh the last 6 month went pretty good. Minor shedding and hair seemed to recover. But suddenly i shed like crazy. If barely touch my hair, i will find 5 strains of hair in my hand. I also have got really bad dandruff. It all started 2 Weeks ago.

Anyone had similar experiences ?

By chance did you change brands of Finasteride? Are you buying generic? Do you buy Finasteride from a drug store or online? I've read the quality of Finasteride is not always consistent from one manufacturer to another, thus the shed can happen. Another thing, if you're shedding a lot there could perhaps be a health issue going on. Have you gotten your bloodwork done? What are your stress levels like? Have you had any physical injuries? Do you eat a balanced diet? Are you supplementing with vitamins, minerals or herbs if needed? Do you get enough rest? Do you get enough sunlight? Do you get enough exercise?

Little Update.

Had Problems for about a year. Minor shedding. But for the last two month the shedding started again.

Is it possible that Finasteride all of the sudden doesnt work anymore?

Maybe it's the lighting or maybe it's the finasteride but your scalp looks quite healthy for a balding person. I know where I'm thinning there's a notable difference in colour, it's redder and irritated.

The hair growing on your head looks healthy, although wet hair will make it look better. Hair in thinning areas tend to lack colour, they are poorer quality at least in my case.

Do you see thin, poor quality hair being shed or are they strong terminal hairs?
