Well..What can be suggested? I'm on Propecia, About to go on Rogaine Foam, I use nizoral every 2-3 days. If I was to purchase just ONE more thing to help my hair from falling what would be that one thing be?

I don't want to waste money on bogus stuff.

Suggestions from all welcome.

possibly topical spironolactone
i think it is only for maintenance though

the Revivogen stuff is expensive and not as proven to be effective

maybe you could try topical flutamide
i think spironolactone is safer since Flutimide may cause liver damage over time

i suggest you keep to the big 3 and add other things after 1 year or soo

cheers mate

ugh. Hair extremely thin again after believing it was thickening. Can't do anything with it. Wispy as Hell. Scalp itches too. Forhead and temples extremely oily. I'm depressed.

Been on finasteride 15 months now. nizoral a few times a week. I'm not sure what Rogaine Foam will do at this point. Hair miniturizing like crazy. Everywhere. I have no density anymore. finasteride is also causing weight gain.

Yes, Revivogen is not working.

Where can I get spironolactone delivered to canada. And How can I get topical flutamide?

Is there any difference at all between finasteride, Proscar and Propecia? Or are they all the same?

Any comments on buying spironolactone cream and/or flutamide in Canada?

finasteride is the drug, Propecia and Proscar are the brands of the drug. The only difference in the brands is the dose. Propecia is 1mg and Proscar is 5mg (which you need to cut into 5ths by yourself)

Wow- I've been using 5mg of Proscar for a year and my "Hair" is never been this bad. My temples have receded up into and on top of my scalp. I have huge bare shiny areas. The center front part is now receding up - I even noticed a difference since Xmas. The hair on top of my head is thin and wispy. I have a flat area on my back scalp. What else - the back of my hair is thin and feels awful and my scalp corners and forhead feel oily as hell all the time.

Nothing is working for me at all. Not the finasteride, the minoxidil or the nizoral. I figure I might have 2 -3 months before my scalp shows (which it already does when hair is wet.)

Yep, losing hope.

I'm losing hair on the sides of my head as well. I look rediculous. I guess i'm just one of those people medication won't help.

I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow - I'm going to ask him for a spironolactone precription and one for flutamide. I doubt he'll issue them to me - but I need to try.

No, I don't think I'm going to give them up - just yet. The finasteride is very cheap, and so is the nizoral - even though I think nizoral is making my head oily. I'm going to give the minoxidil foam a try (if my shipment ever arives). Thinking of trying proxiphen. I have my finasteride prescrition i can copy and send.

Right now i have JUST enough hair where i can pull off that Zac Efron look. To cover my receding temples. But with my front hair minturizing and hair lost all density i don't think i can do that. When I go out my hair turns to thin hay.

Something has to work.

Anyone thought of mixing minoxidil liquid to shaving foam and applying it that way?

I've read something on here about Emu Oil. What does that do. My grocery store has that for 15 dollars a bottle.

Well I've been on minoxidil foam for a week and a half now. Is it supposed to cause headaches because I'm getting them. I apply it mostly to my temples. But I use it on my scalp too. My hair was long last week but I (stupidly) cut it this week to try and thicken it. And hope the minoxidil would get to it easier.

The only time that I got a headache was when I began to use nizoral. But the headaches quickly ceased after 2 days. With minoxidil foam I only experienced quickened heart beat. No headache, no scalp irritation.

Thought I'd update...Been on Foam almost a month and a half now. Aside from making my forehead and temples really oily i didn't see improvement. In fact I believe I've lost more hair. I'm losing it on my scalp. I can feel soft bristly patches on my head now. I rub the foam in all over now. I was told yesterday I'm losing hair on the sides of my head (and I am). It's crazy. Also my front hairline has receded up - a LOT. The center too. I can't believe it. My forehead is HUGE. Oh, and I'm continually receding. Almost all the way to The back of my head. :dunno: It look dreadful. The "Hair" i have left is weak, thin, brittle and itchy and just awful. This is my 16th month on finasteride. 6 steady month on nizoral. It's not working. Neither are any of the 20 supplements I ingest each morning (Biotin, Saw Palmetto, Iron, Vitamin B6, B12, Vitamin E, Green Tea, Folic Acid, MSM, Etc...)
I saw a specialist 3 weeks ago who said I had a good chance of maintaining what I have (Fat Chance as most of the hairs I'm losing now are the really long ones) and another doctor told me yesterday to drop finasteride altogether. (Where do these doctors come from?) Oh yes, I've been using Revivogen for 2 months. If anything I think it's caused a lot of the patchy fallout I have. So I can't recommend that at all. I'm sure that's the reason my front hairline has receded so much. What else can I try?
