Just wanted to drop a line and hopefully provide some encouragement for those in doubt or troubling times with hair.
I have been on propecia for almost two years, I have been using minoxidil for about 8 mos.-Dr. Lees in the morning and rogain in the evening, I have also been using Nizoral for almost two years. This comination has proven to be worth the time and effort, Looking at photos of myself from two years ago is like night and day. The thickness of my hair has improved drastically, my hairline has crept forward and people keep telling me that my hair looks thicker. The outline of where you used to be able to see my hair thinning has vanished. I am very pleased with the results and look forward to continuing with treatment to see how it progresses. btw I am a receder and I had diffusion in the front. I have not experienced any side effects of propecia the only side effect is a dry scalp from the minoxidil-which you have to keep on top of. I have rode through the sheds and probably have many more to come but to me it is well worth it. I am just glad that I know I am doing what I can and whatever the treatments yield is what you get......
I hope this helps some of you guys and best of luck to all, any questions or comments please feel free to reply..........

I have the same type of loss as you... recession and diffuse front so I was wondering how long did it take before you saw results??? Because Im at about month 5 of finasteride and month 9 of minoxidil and my hair is at its worst... thanks

I will post pics shortly, just have to get around to doing it.
I think I realized the hairloss stopped about a year into it, but i wasnt really getting any regrowth, just a halt in hairloss. Adding the minoxidil about 8 months ago I think is what really gave it a kick start I believe in the comination of both . My best advice is to stick with the regimine, there were more times than not that I thought my hair looked like complete sh*t as well. Best of luck to you, hope this helps......

did you get the short fuzzy vellus hairs all over just from using finasteride before adding the minoxidil? Did you notice fuzzy vellus hairs at all? Im trying to determine if these fuzzy vellus hairs I have from less than 2 mos. of finasteride might go terminal. The thing is, there are lots of small dark colored hairs in those patches in front of the hairline as well. Damn, I wish there was an easy answer to all this hair-loss sh*t.

Im not sure about the short vellous hairs but typically you wont see a difference in just two months of finasteride usage, give it time, about a year. But I didnt really see a difference in the vellous hair until minoxidil was added, My hairdresser keeps saying wow look at these there finally taking root. He thinks Im just on propecia and always ask me if im still taking it because he can see and feel the difference.
