The problem is though often with mainstream medicine is everyone acts so smart, like they know and can cure everything... and then they have no idea what's actually wrong lol

They'll do a million tests, and then sit there trying to convince a person still clutching their stomach that they are in fact perfectly fine lol

Funniest thing is though (sorry, I'm ranting a little now lol) that all the alternative medicine practitioners look like these perfect pictures of health, while the normal docs are all tubby with advanced male pattern baldness xD - who would YOU talk to about keeping healthy?

I do know what you mean about getting tests (I did actually already have a stool test which they said was fine) but then again they always claim EVERYTHING is fine. Unless you are about to drop dead, they just don't wanna know ._.

Also, they claim that very odd things are in fact untrue. Like tons of herbal remedies (shortly before isolating a chemical from one to create a new drug, or shortly after a whole ton of studies on pubmed proving them wrong), and things that just make sense like internal cleanses.

I dunno man, it just gets tedious/frustrating ._.

/rant!

man, i get why you're looking into all these other things. there's so many 'what if's in every hairloss sufferer's head and you're looking into whether all of them may be the problem. the thing is that, well, i'd be really happy if you could prove my theory wrong but i reckon it's just genetics. you got unlucky, we all got unlucky. we're all designed with baldness in mind. maybe if you ate 2 more apples every day you'd have 1% less oil on your scalp but i really don't think it's anything more extravagant than that.

edit: just saw this thread linked below \/. maybe even these are a little too clinical compared to the treatments you're looking for hoppi, but it's worth a shot i guess. maybe you'll see something in there you could give a try.

Not everything's nonsense. Just the saliva test as a means of testing for candida overgrowth, and various "cleanses" that are advertised on the internet.

^This.

The spit test was probably thought up by some drop out naturopath while they were in between mixing up homeopathic tinctures. Colon cleanses are for the most part pretty harmful things. They clear out your insides indiscriminately meaning a severe loss of the beneficial microorganisms that your body needs for proper functioning. Candida itself can be specifically targeted just like most fungals can. Most strains of candida are controlled quite well by either ketaconazole, diflucan or miconazole. Cutting out or drastically reducing dietary sugars lowers your bodies susceptibility to a fungal infection and keeping up with probiotics and prebiotics also helps prevent such infections from becoming rampant.

If you are concerned about something like a systemic Candida infection, how's the back of your tongue look? Do you occasionally shed the skin lining of the inside of your mouth? Random cracks or peeling around edges of mouth/edges of nose/insides of ears/itchy feet?

hehe sorry I apologize for some of my noobiness, I mean I'm still learning about things like candida, etc. Also, when I said "cleanses" I guess I was using the term sloppily as I also meant things that simply targeted the bad bacteria / parasites in a broad way, as there are some combination products out there. Btw, what is your opinion on the views of Dr Group:

http://bit.ly/d5Zrn7

and Dr Whiting:

http://bit.ly/bDtsuX

both of which have caught my eye over the last week! They actually both have done videos on Candida too. Dr Group recommended things like oregano oil, a product that for the life of me I can't remember the name of (it's in his candida vid but I'm on my phone so this is tricky lol) and lataroflora (sp?). Dr Whiting recommends an oxygen treatment by increasing the oxygen levels of the blood/body high, thus wiping out any anaerobic organisms such as candida. This reminded me of that MMS (Chlorine Dioxide) stuff, but also I thought that lots of the good bacteria are anaerobic too? o_O

Finally erm, Dr Group has some kind of colon cleanse too, I think it involves... there's one called Oxypowder he does and on a random note (in response to a question) he also says he thinks hydrotherapy is good too. A woman on Yahoo (only positive or negative testimonial I've found first hand) says cleanses transformed her health (she also didn't seem to be selling anything, etc).

Anyway, cheers all and for the great advice Brains - this is fascinating :)

i agree with hoppi on certain terms ... i also believe that male pattern baldness is linked with gut .. and yes small intestine plays most important role in that ... people with gut problem like improper stool not sausage like , constipation or diarrhea are seem to have male pattern baldness ....even chronic dandruff which never goes away ,only get temporary relief from Ketoconazole (nizoral) doctors calls its seborrheic dermatitis (an auto immune condition ) is caused by small intestine problem aka leaky gut which is further caused by small intestine bacterial overgrowth or candida overgrowth ...even sibo (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) or fungal overgrowth causes mal-absorption of vitamins and minerals which is seen in male pattern baldness but supplementing will not work because of mal absorption. inflammation is also caused by sibo or candida overgrowth .....
