You know whats funny about this show? It made me feel bad for people with acne, there was one with a kid that had it bad and he wanted to clear it up to go to prom. I think he spent over 5 grand and it just gold mildly better, his mom couldn't afford to pay for more. Jesus, reminds me of hairloss, even though he could probably clear it up completely, his situation reminded me of hair transplant's. Its just a partial cover-up and not full coverage.

I've received a response from Elyse at MTV.

She states this special will be aired in May.

She requested that I contact her in April to get a specific date.

I just hope they pick someone with extreme hair loss. I want to see how the MTV culture treats severe hair loss.

I dont know why alot of you go on about hoping for acceptance from the public. If baldies were treated normal do you think you would be so much happier? I know i wouldnt cause i dont give a flying f*** what people think. Hairloss bothers me cause I want to look good for ME and feel at MY best..and NOT to please the public.
Anyone with rude remarks would find themselves in hospital. Where i come from people dont take sh*t.

MTV can f*** off.Tell them 2go make a program on how many pairs of shoes paris has

When your a male model who can pull as many girls as he wants, it's easy to say you don't care what other people think because you already get all the positive reinforcement you need. I agree that in theory, other peoples random thoughts should have no impact on you whatsoever, but just for arguments sake lets say that other person is a girl you really like or the boss for a job your hoping to get. Does their opinion of you matter then? Even besides all that, human beings are social creatures and how others perceive us (even though we hate to admit it) DOES have an impact on our confidence. The best example I can use to illustrate is an old episode of the Twilight Zone where the main character has an accident that horribly disfigures his face. Everywhere he goes people stare at him and treats him like a freak. He lost his job, his wife- the life he knew and took for granted. He winds up getting plastic surgery and when the bandages come off he looks normal again....but everyone else is disfigured and gasping at how "ugly" he looks. In other words IWP, no man is an island and on a deep level, we need to be accepted by society. If you had a glaring flaw that most everyone found repulsive then you would know what the hell I'm talking about. Vanilla Sky starring Tom Cruise is another good example. You don't know how important it is to be normal in this society until you are not.

uman.. despite what u think of me i respect your words and hold your advice in high regard here. i am alot different to how u percieve me. im not some jock or social wanabe. in terms of my model work etc i didnt look for it.i was offered it and took it for the money. i have said b4 i was embarrased about it. i was popular in school altho my childhood mates were seen as 'geeks' i nvr aboned them and brought them thru. they are still my best mates today..almost brothers. i am NOT plastic like use all think.

To be fair IWP, I think you're a pretty good guy from what I've heard. We are just in different circumstances that have forged equally different (if not polar) world views. Sorry if I said anything to paint you into a mimbo and I can see that you are not your job. It's just when the subject of women comes up as it often does, your advice to those with image issues that picking up women is not a problem...well, irritates me a little because like anything else you have to consider the source. When it all comes down to it, we can't take credit for how ugly or beautiful we are and we all have these precious souls regardless of the vessels. Its just that for some people, their outward condition can indirectly affect the inner condition. For example, people try to make me feel better with the rationalization that I am still the same person, despite my hairloss, while I would argue that if I never lost my hair I would be quite a different person-more confident, less cynical.

i totally agree with you uman. just to point out tho i think u know its not my job. im a student and as you know they charge the moon and the stars. money is handy for standing about, even though i hate it. Although being with my share of women like any other guy i know f all.no1can ever say they know what women want. (well maybe CCS lol). My point wasnt that its easy per se but that a guy can still be successful with girls.to the young guys dont chase the playa crap.im happy with one girl who id give all

Thats rubbish IMO, you're IN PART a product of your enviornment, that includes how you're seen in others eyes. Because really, if baldies were treated 'normal' then you wouldnt even think baldness is a problem. It's just social conditioning, unbeknownst to you.

Once again i think UCMAN is totally correct, but his own theories shouldn't necessarily apply to him simply because he isn't, nor does he look like, a freak.

Thanks Barca. The example I used was an extreme hypothetical but is parallel to advanced balding to a greater degree. The idea is the same though. IWP, you offer a valuable perspective in this community as well and I hope you don't withdraw any future contributions. Anyhow, looking forward to seeing this program although I know it will stir up some emotions.
