What the hell happened? I was sleeping w my unit on and in the middle of the night haphazardly ripped it off my head, and pulled the tape off without using alcohol. This morning I immediately saw that lace had become twisted onto itself.

I thought maybe there was some residual adhesive in those spots so I used C22 and worked it specifically in those areas, then washed & conditioned.

Still, the problem continues. (I think it might have to do w severe tangling in the affected area)

C22 and conditioning and detangling brush did nothing - in fact, it's worse now.

Many hairs have become inverted, sticking out of the lace in toward my scalp. I think these hairs are the source of the shriveling.

This is a joke.

Piece had no issues before - don't know what went wrong. I pulled it off my head aggressively, without alcohol, in the middle of my sleep and the next day noticed some shriveling and knotting. Upon trying to correct, things got worse.

I also had a light attachment the night I ripped it off. I'd put 4 pieces of 3 by 3/4 inch pieces of tape on the base - 1 in the front, 1 in the back, and 1 on each side. I wonder if this lent itself to damage while sleeping.

I've never seen anything like that. It looks like some (not a small number) of the threads in the lace mesh have been pulled like drawstrings. I'm afraid I think your piece has had it. Have you got a spare?
