I don't have to do this regularly, because I do a full maintenance every week, and the environment where I live is pretty clean. But in polluted places I have had to do it, eg Beijing, Bangkok. Also travelling on the London Underground seems to schmutz up your lace oddly enough, don't know why.

I use Gofybr concealing fibers daily for my thin templepoints and I think that's what's getting stuck in there, so I should probably do it daily. I've also started reattaching every thursday just like you.
