Just Started Taking Finasteride This Week

Its been about a week of taking Finasteride and the only side effect I’ve been having is testicular pain. It can be sharp at times. Talked to my dermatologist and he told me to stop taking it. Says it could lead to ED.

The testicular pain is most likely due to the rise in testosterone noticed with the use of 5ar inhibitors. If you continue regular usage, it should subside.

I got the ball pain too, went away within a month.

Its ultimately your decision, but might not be bad idea to follow his advice or just try lowering the dose. Just one of those things you have to wonder is it worth it to keep your hair? There isnt any real alternative short of the experimental treatments like RU which are sketchy at best.

I decided to just stop taking it. I might try a lower dose but 1mg just didn’t sit well with me.

Try 0.25 mg first then work it up
