i guess ive been pulling ever since i was eight or nine, but never pulled out the hair on my head, my knees and stomach are the worst, tweezing trying to be rid of all the hair, i started on my knees because there was so much hair ingrown under the skin and it felt so good to get it out, i was on a mission to get all these deep hairs out. not my knees are bloody and sore but yet i still pick at it as soon as i can see hair again, i dont even want to wear shorts or goto the pool because ive scared myself , can this really be a neurological disorder

i remember reading they found that people who have to pull hairs all the time are missing a gene.

it has nothing to do with baldness though

This is definitely something you want to see an MD/psychiatrist about, not the internet.

This is a psychological disorder called Trichotillomania. You can google it for more information and support. We have a quick-page about it on this site as well. The treatment is therapy sessions. Inquire with your health insurance as to whether you are covered for counseling and find someone who specializes in this.
