Is this Natural?

I was wondering if this is my natural crown? I styled it a bit different today, and my crown look huge, could anyone give me any feedback?

This is under some light, without my camera on flash. My hair has also just been washed and blow dried.

Is it really? :(

Sometimes I can wash it and dry it and you can hardly see my crown, is it because I've styled it in a different direction?

If I am definitely going bald here, what should I do.

The doctor has advised me not to do anything yet.

You can do a test where they pull your hair to see if its thinning.

Ask about this when you go to see a dermatologist

Too early to tell. But I see plenty of non balding people with highly visable crown partings.
Infact when the 18 yr old NW1 kid won pop Idol the other day as he was being hugged you could see a 3cm long patch in his crown like that and there's no way he's going bald.
Nearly everyone has scalp visible at that 'swirl' area on the crown.

I don't know if your losing your hair based on your crown or not and it's the best you see a doctor who is a dermatologist, not a general doctor who knows nothing about hair loss. Where are you from? I read one of your other posts and you should see only a DERMATOLOGIST, other doctors don't know what they are talking about and you'll just be wasting your time.

Losing hair is normal and it's not a sign for balding. The sign for balding is when you lose hair and begin to see bald spots forming on your scalp. So maybe your hair loss is normal and your crown was always like that, it's the best to ask people who know you your entire life (parents) and also keep your eye at it and see if it's also getting thinner around that spot.

If it would get worse I still wouldn't say you should start using Finasteride but maybe Minoxidil could fill your vertex and then you could use finasteride in the future if it gets worse.

I also have a crown that is similar to yours, but also the hair around my spot is a little thinner. I went to three doctors, one recommended me on Propecia without even looking at it and even that I'm not losing hair at the moment. The other send me to blood tests and told me that it might be the Iron and Folic Acid shortage in my blood and the third doctor also said to finish the Iron and Folic Acid pills and give it a chance. So I'm taking those pills now and will giving it some time to solve itself and if it won't then I'll accept it's male pattern baldness and will start treating it very soon.

Take a blood test, see if everything is alright and if it's not then make it alright and meantime see how your crown is progressing and if it goes thinner and your blood tests are good then it's probably male pattern baldness.

Does your hair above your temples is thinning? If not it could be just a mature hair line.

The doctors refuse to put me through to a derm, they keep telling me I'm thinning a bit around the crown, but all have insisted I have a healthy scalp. I don't lose hair when combing it that much, niether do I after combing it when coming out of the shower.

I'm currently using Nizoral and Saw Palmetto as just a safety kinda thing, I'm too young to buy propecia.

Is it normal to see parts of youe sclap if you push you haur slightly to one side, if that makes sense..?

And if I start propecia as early as possible will this garuntee to slow it down?

Well i suppose it depends on if it has always looked like that. I have a thick crown with only a small spiral(hairline in problem for me). You should try to find a photo from when you were younger to compare it to. If there is a change its male pattern baldness, if not then you are good(for now at least)
