I have been considering taking finasteride, but it is pretty risky. I wonder if there is anyone who started it at 17. And if there is, what kind of sides did you go through? Do you think you developed fully?

finasteride at 17 isn't a big deal, but some members on here will fight to the death to disprove that opinion. While it's not recommended anyone under 18 take it, I don't see much difference personally. You won't (probably) grow boobs or get errectile dysfunction or anything.. It is one of the safest, most effective ways to combat hairloss right now. If I knew what finasteride was at 14 I would be on it but that's just me.. Can you post pics of your hair? Given your age I don't see your hairloss being noticeable yet so waiting til 18 would be favorable.

It isn't noticeable for now, but i want to keep my hair as much as possible. I have been using minoxidil for about a 1.5 months. It seems it has stopped the hair fall but i may feel like that since i cut my hair to #0.

minoxidil works good in the short term but ideally you want to get on finasteride before your minoxidil gains diminish

So when do you think i should start? Should i wait for 1 year and then when i hit 18 add finasteride?
And how is my hair? Would you say this is definitely male pattern baldness?
