Is The Right Side Of My Head Thinning ?

Hello all,

Posted a couple months ago and reposting as an update kind of thing.

i am concerned about my right side of my head. Please see the pictures below. Would this be considered a normal hairloss process?

My hair is a mess by the way as these photos were took not long after I had woke up.

I have attached a screenshot of another picture of my right side from a couple months ago, appears to not look as thin when hair is shorter.

Thank you for your reply. My hair is very fine and straight so I’m not sure if it’s the density or if I’m actually thinning out! Problem is at the minute, I can’t exactly go to the derm with current crisis.

Just getting opinions whilst I’m in lockdown so I can take some form of action!

Also, I know they may not actually do ANYTHING at all but was wondering what the best hairloss shampoo is? Loads online!

Wow. Your hair looks exactly like mine, just way better haha. I have the same cowlick in the back. Same hairline about 4 years ago. Same “thinning” spot on the sides right above the ears. My hair quite literally seems to be a copy of yours.

First, how old are you? My hair gets extremely oily after 24hrs of not showering, does yours do the same? Hair loss seems much more of an issue than it really is with our type of hair as 1) it is fine, not over the top fine, but just not averagely thick hair 2) abundant sebum output clunks up the strands so scalp is a bit more visible (i take it you shower with shampoo everyday because of this, because I certainly did 3) our natural hairline design isnt intended to be straight hence why you see a slight “v” when you pull yours back, similar to leonardo dicap.

Nevertheless, your hair is fine. Atleast for now. What I would do if I were in your situation are the following:

1) do not use shampoos with sulfate, use some more natural shampoo’s like “tea tree”. There are no shampoo that cure hair loss, its just important to use ones that don’t have chemicals that are proven to damage hair. If you have severe dandruff on shampoos that are not head&shoulders go get a prescription of ketoconzole from ur derm and use it as needed

2) motior your hairline, you see that freckle spot literally right on your hairline, monitor it. If it starts moving back and the freckle has no hair around it then you know you are beginning to recede.

3) this is the most important. DO NOT monitor or think about your hair everyday. You are no where near the hair loss phase in which you must worry therefore constant monitoring and thinking can only make matters worse.

at the end of the day, no you are not crown-thinning nor receding.

Hi man, wow! A hair doppelgänger Nice to get advice from someone who is almost the same hair type then!

I’m 22 years old and no it’s does not get ‘extremely oily as you say but it definitely does get oily if I do not wash it for a couple days, and when I say wash, I mean just not get in the shower/bath at all!

But yes, you’re right, I do shower everyday and shampoo at least 4-5 times a week and lightly blow dry it!

What would your suggestions be in terms of shampoo? I’ve been taking multi vitamins and biotin (I know it may not do much but worth a shot ey) in case I was losing hair so there was at least some form of action towards halting hair loss!

Hi thank you for you’re reply, he’s a full head! I’ve got a picture here! The black hair pic is him.

When I slick my hair back it looks better. But when it sticks straight up it looks thin!

The photo which has been screenshotted was from a post of mine 8 months ago! all of the other photos were from this week/today

If you look at the comparisons it looks as if my hair is better now? Could the photo at the time be just exaggerating the bald patches?
