Is no-PPG glycerine based minoxidil any good?

My scalp has recently become very sensitive so I am unable to use regular PPG based minoxidil. I am currently on Lee's PPG free minoxidil which is glycerine based and extra sticky. Does this stuff even get absord into the scalp? I felt that PPG based minoxidil went on totally dry.

Viper, why not just use the rogaine foam. It has no PPG in it. These stories about it causing big sheds is because it absorbs very good so you have to use it very sparingly.

Hey Doctor,

I tried foam and loved it at first, but I had the worst shed of my life on it, for 6 months straight! It chewed right through my hairline and vertex. I am VERY afraid of going back to foam. Are you having luck with PROX-N from Lef.og. I just got mine in the mail today....is it compatible with minoxidil?

I use Proxiphen which is the one prescribed and is more effective than Proxiphen-n. I know what you mean about the foam. I am using Proxiphen in the am and went back to using the foam( very small amount) at night. The foam knocked my hairline out too. So far everything is fine. I have alot of new hairs that are terminal growing at my hairline( looks like I had a transplant). I have hairs growing in my juvenile hairline too. So I am definitely getting regrowth. I got a super shed from Proxiphen more than the foam. By the way, I guess by looking at your avatar, you watch Prison Break. I read that actress who played Sarah will be back as the doctor. I am glad. I liked her character. I think Prison Break is a excellent show.

That's good to know. I hate sheds since have had too many of them in the last 2 years with little to no regrowth. I hope Prox doesn't cause a huge shed in my case. I have read that it actually haulted shedding for some individuals, so it's strange that you actually shed like crazy.

I am a HUGE PB fan. Sarah is SUPER HOT and I would love to see her again :woot:
