Is My Thinning Hair Male Pattern Or Something Else?

Hey everyone , I am new here and concern about my thinning hair. It actually came out of nowhere. I am 31 years old and I had really bad dandruff and itchiness on the scalp. I went to a dermatologist and was told i had sebboric dermatitis. I was prescribed with Nizoral 2 percent keto. The itchiness and dandruff went away, but i notice my hair seemed to look different and recending unevenly. I've been under alot of stress for more than a year and barely getting any sleep because of sleep apnea. I just want to know if it's male pattern or just something else. I tried asking my dermatologist, but all she said that it looks like its thinning and to use Minoxidil.

Sorry but it does indeed look like Male Pattern Baldness, and you seem to be a diffuse thinner. I'd suggest The Big Three ASAP and you will probably have really good results.

Hello man. No worries. Diffuse thinning is normal is just male pattern baldness, but instead of the classical receding hairline you're thinning. Just like me :). Although I do feel like diffuse thinners have it easier to combat Male Pattern Baldness, since you still have hair, unlike a receding hairline where it is really hard to regrow hair. As mentioned bro, decide wether your hair matters to you and if it DOES hop on ATLEAST an anti-androgen such as Finasteride/Dutasteride, a growth stimulant (recommended but not needed) such as Minoxidil (Kirkland is just 60$/year) and Nizoral (not mandatory) but works as a way to prevent inflammation to the scalp, and does work very good for most people! I hugely recommend all three!

If it doesn't, you can just let nature take its course.

Hope this helps, best of luck.

Edit: Just realized that you're alread on Nizoral, that's a good start.

male pattern baldness. Your best bet for preventative treatments right now are 1mg of finasteride daily and 5% minoxidil 2x a day using a 1.5mm dermaroller once a week.

You might go through a shedding phase at the start but don't worry! It is a sign that the treatment is working
