That's not good advice as all hair on your head varies in thickness even in the absence of male pattern baldness. Hair from the back ( donor zone ) is often the thickest hair on your head, while the hairs on your temples is often the thinnest. This can be seen all the time on females.A perfect hairline has definition . your hairline has zigzag pattern. So you are maturing your hairline. It is not possible to tell you from those two photos but I can give you a trick to know if you are balding or not.
Just pluck two or more hairs from both your temples and from back of the head . place temple hairs and hairs from back separately on white colour surface. Now closely see the thickness of hairs from both samples.if temple hairs appear thin ,discolored than back hair then your are actively balding. Repeat the procedure for few times.if you constantly notice thinner hairs from temples as compared to the hairs from back side then your are balding. If not then you shouldn't worry ,at least not for now.
Does this necessarily mean male pattern baldness? Or could it just be my hairline maturing?you are receding and thinning. still in early stages tho
It could be, but your pics suck. Even the new ones. Without good lighting and a decent camera its hard to say. Here's a tip, don't post pics with your hair just 'normal' lean your phone on a book or something, set a 5 second picture capture timer and stand under a light. Pull your hair back with both hands exposing the hairline and take pics of the front and sides. Also try some up close pics of your temples from the sides and top too. Put all these pictures together and upload them. THAT is the ideal pics you should be providing.Does this necessarily mean male pattern baldness? Or could it just be my hairline maturing?
Do you think it’s possible that the hair at my temples is just naturally recessed? Here are a couple of pictures from when I was 14/15Looks like your hairline is receding based off the shape of your temple points. i started receding at 17-18 and im still a nw2.5-3 thanks to finasteride (i think?) and im 27 now.
I dont think the thickness varies that much.it will be evident when someone is actively balding. Hair specialist use this technic by using magnifying instrument to see how much hairs are thinned .if they see more that 10 % hair has thinned ,then they would make diagnosis of male pattern baldness. So I told him to repeat this experiment for few times. I also said him to see colour of his hair.in male pattern baldness hair colour fades and hairs appear lifeless. That's not good advice as all hair on your head varies in thickness even in the absence of male pattern baldness. Yup. It looks like you are not receding. And your hairline was already mature. But the only thing that looks fishy in the recent pictures is some mild/almost non-existent thinning above the widow's peak area. Or maybe I'm overthinking this one.Do you think it’s possible that the hair at my temples is just naturally recessed? Here are a couple of pictures from when I was 14/15
