Is It Sure That A New Hairpiece Has To Be Washed Before Attaching?

I've heard many times that new pieces have to be washed, otherwise they don't attach, because the bases are covered with some product, silicone or smth. And this is what I've been doing all the time, but maybe it's actually not true? Has anyone tried not washing the system before?
I am buying from Northwest Lace. Any experience attaching their systems without washing them before?

Will it fall right off, if I don't wash it? Will I get a weaker attachment?

Thank you!

The silicone is intended for the hair, not the base, but I guess some sometimes goes on the base and some more rubs off the hair onto the base during packing and despatch. Why wouldn't you just wash it to be on the safe side? What's the big deal?

It consumes time. My dere with new hairpiece already takes hours and have to go straight to the hairdresser. It's exhausting.

Just tried not washing. Seems to bond fine.

If the silicone is good for the hair why not just wipe the base with alcohol and leave the silicone on the hair?
