Is It Even Worth Saving Your Hair If You're Ugly?

I've used finasteride and plan to use minoxidil. Also saving up for a transplant. Currently on a NW2, maybe 2.5 even.

Is there any point of this given that I'm ugly? I'm 26 and never even been on a date. Closest I got was a kiss from a landwhale last year. Doesn't help that I'm 5'8 (not even fully btw, 172cm). The side effects could make me even more ugly and the money for the transplant could be used for hookers.

I guess I rationalize all this by telling myself people might treat me worse if I was bald.

If you are a Norwood 2, you're in good shape, no need for a transplant. You can get a good haircut that can bring you up 2 points at a minimum. Probably 3 points. Google hair styles and find a few you like.

Don't be cheap and go to a good barber/stylist.

5'8 ain't bad. You never got laid because you weren't social enough.

What are your flaws? Can you grow a beard?

Most dudes in their 30's seem to be bald/balding so you're just a few years away from flexing on them with a head of hair.

This. Having hair in your 30s can certainly turn the tides.

That 6'4 guy you were competing with in your 20s is either married and off the market, trapped via child support (not many realize how much of a turnoff this is for women), or is balding and is brought down to your level.

30s/40s is easy mode for men as long as they keep in decent shape and keep the hair. I've noticed that those girls who wouldn't talk to me in my early 20s are suddenly singing a different tune now. Shooting fish in a barrel.

I tried to grow a beard for almost two weeks, it did seem to grow though it was a bit patchy and made my jaw look weaker. As for my flaws; below average jaw, non-prominent cheekbones and large nose. Also skinny fat and have gyno. I'm probably a 3.5/10 or 4 on a good day.

By the time I hit 30 I'll probably be a solid NW3 without treatment. Even if I mange to maintain it there will still be plenty of better looking guys than me with/without hair.

I'm a bit socially awkward but that probably comes from the way I was treated because of my looks in my early-mid teen years. Even had people say straight up to my face that I was ugly about 15-20 times back then. There may have been a girl or two that was interested back in my late teens but I just assumed they were being friendly. In any case I've asked about 15 women and almost all then rejected me besides a landwhale.

Why would the fact that a man pays child support is a turn off for a woman? I dont think they care too much, usually women in their 30s/40s will prefer a divorced guy over a single one, I guess it's because it shows he is a 'marriage material'

Here's what you can work on..

Get jaw/chin fillers for an instant improvement. Might sound crazy to you but a physical improvement will spark an inner change too. It's not invasive and the result will look natural.

Minoxidil on your beard area every night for 6 months to get a full beard (go for the heavy stubble or short beard look). The nose doesn't matter in men. How are your teeth?

Work out to go from skinny fat to fit and get rid of your gyno with treatment/surgery.

And stay on finasteride so you don't lose your remaining hair because it'd be difficult to bounce back.

New look - new outlook. Every physical change that I made, it gave me a confidence boost (for a little while, until you get used to it).. which definitely opens the door for new and more positive experiences. Never stop working on yourself until you get what you want, otherwise life is meaningless.

How much do jaw/chin fillers cost? I've looked into it before but can't seem to a find an actual price online. Also don't they need to redone every six months? Seems like it would be very expensive in the long run.

I'm already worried about sides from applying minoxidil on my scalp so I really don't want to apply it on my face. My teeth are one of my good features, had them fixed during my preteens.

I think my skinny fat body is just in my genetics but I do workout to try reduce it. Looking into getting gyno reduction surgery at some point.

Thing is, by the time I have enough money for this surgery I'll probably be 30. Still I appreciate the advice and at the very least I'll be getting a hair transplant and gyno reduction in the next 2-3 years.

Imagine you were dating this beautiful woman who loved you, but she's required by law to go over and f*** her ex husband once per month. Would you still want to be with her? Believe it or not, this is the same sort of feeling a lot of women get when their boyfriend/husband has to pay money to another woman. After the age of 25-30, having a child in your tinder pictures will get you a left swipe far faster than a bit of recession.

Well firstly, I want to apologize how you are feeling, you shouldn't feel like that. When it comes to girls, I will say it has gotten harder and harder - also something we tend to value ourselves on - something to reflect on later.

As another guy said, work on yourself, a depressed guy, is not attractive. Nobody wants to deal with that - fake it if you have to. You can let your guard down later.

Also, I am not sure where you asked these 15 girls out (guessing online), but hey, I have been ghosted at least 50 times in the last 6 months. It no longer phases me, it is simply the game. It is the game! I have probably talked to at least 100 girls on Hinge and only met a handful *rolls eyes*. And probably over 300 in the last few years, and met but a fraction of them. But when you do meet, it is wonderful. I also think, sometimes we - all of us here, need to pivot away from perhaps being chad or a playboy. At some stage, find a partner to settle down with should be the goal. That is mine now.

Also, what is wrong with the landwhale, build some confidence with her? Get a better understanding of you, your persona, etc. I feel like you really need that.

I think personally getting to be yourself is all you need - new social skills. If some girl doesn't like my humour (I stopped overtly sexual jokes a long time ago - unless I was seeing the person) I move on. I don't care.

For example, I started a new weekend job, predominately Indian - South Asians, and my trainer was pointing to the fire exists, and I as a joke, I said, don't we Indians (I am Indian as well) start praying in emergencies? haha

I have seen a lot of bald men in their 40s with younger Chinese wives and children during my stroll along the riverside yesterday. They seemed very happy.

I'm pretty good at hiding the fact that I'm depressed, especially around women. Still see decent looking depressed guys do well with women though.

The 15-20 women I approached were all irl. I quit with online dating about a year or two ago. Barely had any matches and the ones I did have either flaked on me or just wanted to talk. Also I don't think I could ever date a landwhale, a bit chubby maybe.

I never really cared for sleeping around. Would be more than happy with just having a stable relationship. I do occasionally see hookers though, mainly for the intimacy.

So my success has been due to paying for apps.

Upto you, I know th odds, the game. I've dished out quite a bit. I justify it as sometimes it's the cost of a date so perhaps give that a shot.

Also, be more social, I mean minus covid join groups to volunteer or sports.

And finally, attraction changes. I was with someone who was larger but over time I liked her. Couldn't get enough of her.

It all changes and with her I learned a lot too.

How do you know Im not a divorced with 3 kids and paying child support 10k a month?
Lol just remembered that you said you're in your mid 20's somewhere but I could be wrong.

What is this? some stuff they inject to you jaw? I guess it requires maintainance every few months?

It's pretty expensive. Around $500 per injection if I'm not mistaken. But they can last for a very long time and possibly the effect is permanent at least to a certain extent.

Yeah I feel you. Good luck with all man. Marrying in your mid 30's is completely normal nowadays so you got time either way.

It's always worth doing everything to save what you have, of course.
Grow your hair out. If you really are a NW2, you can cover that sh*t up so easily.
Keep a job, keep saving money, keep taking your finasteride.
Things will look much better in your 30s. Trust the people on here.
In my experience, your 20s can vary a lot. Some people get their life figured out real quick, like marrying or getting that well paying job at 23. Others take longer. I think as long as you are good at 30, you seem to be set on a good path. Observations from friends and social circles prove this in my opinion. Some people keep slacking, thinking they can prolong their 20s - doesn't work. Others really regret not going through some rough patches in their 20s and they have a divorce, which is often worse because kids.
My bottom line: Not having everything worked out in your 20s is fine as long as you get your sh*t in order for your 30s. Things change pretty quickly around that time. If you got a clean slate at the start, you could have a lot of fun. So f*** yes, keep munching your damn finasteride and keep your hair.
