Is It Better To Start With Finasteride Or Dutasteride?

You should always start with the weakest drug ... because maybe it could be enough to save your hair ...
If it doesn't, you can increase the dosage, or maybe take something stronger.
So I think you're right when you're thinking about taking Finasteride because it's safer, indeed it's the best choice for a start. You could even start with half a pill.

Definitely start with finasteride, that way if things don't stabilise you can work your way up the treatment ladder, that's what I'm doing.
