Is Hairloss you BIGGEST and ONLY struggle in life?

It was for me a year ago, but no more. I guess I have started to accept the inevitable gradual baldness that's headed my way. I have also accepted that most treatments are futile in my case. The most remarkable thing has been other bigger issues that have surfaced in the past 2 years in my life such as bodybuilding related injuries, arthiritis and BUM knees. Only AFTER I had these other issues did I start to realise how I wasted 4 years of my life obsessing about my hair day and night. Like they say, life comes at you fast, try to appreciate WHAT YOU HAVE as opposed to WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE. I would gladly choose baldness if I could get my knees to be 100 percent again. Just some food for thought.

Yeah I don't know how I'd cope if sports and exercising in general would be taken away from me along with hair. My father was an active sportsman when he was young but rheumatism at mid-20s ruined it for him. I just hope that I haven't inherited the rheumatism gene... I do have some back problems from time to time, but nothing too serious as of yet.

I hear ya, man.

I'm at a point right now where I realize my potential for moving on. It's tough.

I don't think I'd have the balls to curse baldness onto anyone, at least not the young guys.

Your health is way too important. :)

hey guys, havent posted in probably a year. I was really struggling with the idea of hair loss, i was 20 when i joined this site, and my hair was thinning a littel bit....anymore it doesnt even bother me. If this is the biggest deal in your life, then its not that bad.....since this is a place where people are pretty straightforward and tell it liek it you guys need to stop worrying about it, make the best of the situaiton, get on treatment and live your life. after a few pretty bad beats that i have suffered recently ( getting herpes from one night stand while in college, my mom getting sick, and a few other things, i can promise you, hair loss may seem like a huge deal now, but if you let it control your life your really missing out. The grass is always greener on the other side, and unfortunantly it sometimes takes a few even more shitty things then thinning hair to make you realize how much time you waisted worrying about what amounts to be more of a nuisance then anything serious....

my hair has stayed pretty much the same, i have been on again off again with rogaine, but just stopped that too much of a hassle, all i do now is take finasteride, and as longa s my hiar isnt super gelled up or wet, and i style it forward, it looks fine and most people cant tell..........

stop letting the little things f*** up your life, play the hand your dealt to the best of your abilities, dont worry about things you cant change, and get on with your life.....Once you realize that you shoudl only worry about things you can change, your gonna be a lot happier in life, and ultimantly hair loss isnt going to be as big of an issue, and it wont define who you are as a person.....

i wish everyone the best, ill try and get a few pics up.....and drop in from time to time.....

ill spare you any more cliche advice, but get on the big 3, or whatever, do what you can, and get on with your lives because if you look back and recall missing out on a lot of fun or losing confidence over this, you will regret it i promise you

Viper, I know how you feel. I suffer from chronic back pain mostly muscular and now my knees are starting to bother me. I enjoy working out and it very discouraging to wake up with a bad back, painful knees, and thinning hair. I do my best to overcome these obstacles but it is not always easy. As you say, you have to appreciate what you have since there are many people who are way worse off than myself. I am still fortunate for what I do have. Life is scary. Look what happened to Christopher Reeves. Life can thru you a curve that could totally devastate you. Yet he did the best he could with his curve ball. I always admired him and it really was depressing to see how quickly his life had changed. I think we take too many things for granted in life.

Hairloss is the worst thing thats happenend to me,I know that sounds pathetic but its only because of the way that this one condition has impacted on so many aspects of my life such as self confidence.
Hairloss seems to have a control over how I live and a lot of my time over the years has been spent thinking about it and doing things (or not doing things) because of it.

To sum my biggest struggle in life, it would be AGING and everything that goes with it. Kind of what I previously mentioned, more aches and pains, thinning and graying hair, and struggling to keep in shape and look young.

Well you cant really fight ageing but apearance wise hairloss is probably the most obvious sign of ageing of all.
Losing your hair in your 20's/30's is like getting wrinkles in your teens.

for me life=struggle. I don't know if I did something wrong in the past and it's just God way of punishing me but I Ive been struggling for a long time now and it's not just a hairloss but lots of other things as well which are really personal so I won't talk about them here. I know that 90% of people would either kill themselfes or saw no reason to live after the things I went through and still going trough but something in me tells me "keep going" and I believe that after a rain the sun always shows up. One thing thought going through all this definetly made me stronger men. I am totally diffrent now and I like what all this did to me in a way of making me stronger mentally. Like one of the poster mentioned I too found my place in sports. I know that a lot of things in my life can be turned around but it will take massive commitment and discipline from my side. I have a choice either give up and live in mistery for the rest of my life or do something without even knowing if the outcome of it will be succesfull and knowing that
I have to change my ways and in a way myself completly to even start. I just refuse to give up.
cheers mates

Thats the point. In the end only you know what you have/have'nt endured. No one else gives a sh*t because they're only concerned about their problems.
Life just is'nt fair there is no karma or justice just what ever random sh*t you get dealt.
If you achieve nothing in life but can keep going no matter what life throws at you in the end that is a great achievement.
Many people have easy lives without realising, they just take it for granted that its the same for everyone else (apart from the starving or disabled of course).
But then again compared to them do any of really have it that bad?

Honestly the only thing I've realised in my time on this planet is just live your life your own way because in the big scheme of things nothing really matters.

I reckon you're one of the lucky few for whom the treatments have actually worked? Right?

Dude, it's great if hairloss dosn't bother you. May I ask, why you still frequent these forums and read threads like these?

I thought of another thing in life that I struggle to deal with everyday. Its dealing with ignorant people with no common sense who tend to try to transfer all their negativity to me. I like people like s.a.f and Cassin who have plenty of common sense and show positivity with everyone on here. That is why I like hanging around this forum. And of course, I need my entertainment too and we have CCS for that.

My post was a joke guys :) It's still worth doing though, hardening up and getting on with the things that actually matter.

In answer to the questions, my hair is probably slowly deteriorating, but I'm not that concerned by it anymore. I wasted too long worrying about it, when I could have been out doing other things with my life, that's all. Some "threat" is always going to be there for a worrying mind to latch on to, blow out of proportion and waste time "preparing" for, it's much better to just harden up and get over it. It's hard at first, but it's worth it.

If my life was nothing more than seeking the buzz you get from looking good, fark, give me a gun and i'll spray my brains out over the pavement now. Luckily enough it's a dick load more. We're grotesquely lucky to be alive

I still frequent these forums because I enjoy reading the posts, no other reason. Mainly the off-topic section, but I still read the occasional thread on hair loss, especially the more scientific posts since I've started studying something along those lines.

Probably about a Norwood 1.8 at the age of 30.
