I'm Wondering If A Transplant A Real Option?

It's been almost a year since I've posted and I believe I've gotten worse in the last year. I'm 45 and was researching a fuel treatment. I don't think I was quite a Norwood 7, but I'd say it now. For those who have had procedures, do you think it would do any good? Am I better off just accepting it and keep it short?
Thanks

You still have options.. At this stage of hairloss I would recommend a regimen of 0.5mg dutasteride and minoxidil 2x a day with dermaroller. You may be surprised at how much hair you get back.. It's usually the baldies who get the best results.

A toupee is your only option at this point.

Sure, but it would seem that you'd need body hair for donor

The goal would be to give frame in the front,

you could have a big bald spot in back, no big deal compared to where you are now

His best bet is to improve his situation and then consider transplant. Right now it's a lost cause.. or loss of money haha.

There are examples online of people who have like 5k+ grafts from your current level and, albeit with a combover after the transplant, their hair looks pretty decent.

This isn't a great solution but, is it better than being slick bald? I think so.

The only problem is, sometimes transplants can be unpredictable. Yield isn't always consistent. If I remember correctly, FUT has a slightly higher yield percentage wise, so in your position you may want to do that, and then a later FUE to maximize your donor. Then, if worst comes to worse, you SMP your FUT scar or something, if you get to the point of needing to shave your head.

Depends on donor quality but I'd still go down the transplant route. Either plan for a major FUT for at least 5000 grafts and a second FUE for another 2-3000 plus SMP afterwards or hairpiece.

But I mean its going to cost a lot. I'd do it in my case if I had to. Also worth trying dutasteride, minoxidil and nizoral shampoo to see if you can scrape anything back.

For me a transplant is only a good option if you've made it to your 35-45 with a nw3 and feel it in to a nw2. When filling in minor gaps, transplant is a good option. But if you are going to fill in a lot of hair, personally I dont like it and it looks weird.

So it sounds like the answer is no or go broke trying. Guess that's why only the old bald guys had Corvettes when I was growing up. I met a Dr last year which was ready and willing to do a FUE but he also wanted 10k. That's not really an option right now and I'm really wondering if it would do much good or I want to spend that much in another year. I've been looking at some home remedies online. Nothing dangerous but maybe I'll post results later.

I think your best bet is shaving it.
I your case, the possibility that the transplant is unsatisfactory as too high

So here is my donor area. I'm not really a hairy guy, so any other body hair wouldn't look so good in my opinion.

Can always do some consultations with top surgeons and see what they say.

Maybe first try meds for 6 months to a year and see what happens. If you get even moderate regrowth you'll end up with a more satisfactory transplant result with more grafts to spare

I have considered shaving my head, my older brother did it years ago but my wife doesn't care for the look.

I mean no disrespect to anyone but that's probably the best answer, to see a specialist and go from there.
