Hello guys,

the time has come and i have to make new template. My very first system was made in saloon ( 3 months ago in London ), it was little bit messed up from beginning... i saw few videos how to make template, but i will appreciate some tips.... i have got some questions as well.

1.- im wearing style where hair line is covered and front hair ( fringe ) is going forward and up... do i need graduated hair line, its possible to cover hair line when its graduated?

2.- when template is made, i want freestyle vent. Do i need mark/draw direction of sides/back hairs that sides will go to sides and back will go back or they make it this way on their own?

3.- color match - how much hairs i have to cut/send and its good to send hairs from different parts of head separately or mixed it together?

4. i have medium dark brown hair, do i need bleched knots?

5. System will be from NWL ( opinion ? )

P.S. My recent system is 3 months old but after summer it gets lighter and it has some red tone and it has different color from my bio hairs ( in beginning it was 100% match ), it looks like highlits but i dont like it and it looks obvious when you know its system... i wash hairs 1-2x per week, its normal after 3 months? Whats your experience with color restoration? My hair dresser knows i wear system, hopefully she will make it same color again ( some tips ? ) but she newer diy hair system. Its good to use some darkening shampoo at first or i need pernament diy color?

Thank you guys.

Hi Newbieeeeeee

Here are a couple of the best videos on this, I think. There are plenty more on YouTube.

Yes, a graduated hairline is always better and more natural looking, even if you wear a fringe.

2.- when template is made, i want freestyle vent. Do i need mark/draw direction of sides/back hairs that sides will go to sides and back will go back or they make it this way on their own?

If it is freestyle you don't need to do that, but if you have something particular in mind for how the hair should sit, it's a good idea to communicate it. You are then giving the factory the best possible chance of delivering exactly what you want.

3.- color match - how much hairs i have to cut/send and its good to send hairs from different parts of head separately or mixed it together?

A little swatch about the thickness of a chopstick is enough. If the tones of your hair differ significantly from one part of your head to another, then yes, it's a good idea to give samples of those different areas. Label your samples (e.g. Area A, Area B etc) and mark clearly on your template which samples relate to which areas.

4. i have medium dark brown hair, do i need bleched knots?

Yes, certainly at the hairline.

5. System will be from NWL ( opinion ? )

Good choice.

P.S. Personally I think full-on dyeing is best left to the professionals. If you keep at it from the start when you get a new system, I find a combination of colour-correcting shampoo/conditioner and sunscreen on the hair is enough to keep the colour matching. If your system has gone beyond that point, and you are going to get your stylist to re-colour it, then don't use any other colouring products on it till she has done her work. They can react together in unexpected ways.

Good luck

yes you will need bleached knots. funny you mentioned it cuz I was at the post office recently and there was a man about a good 10 feet away and I spotted his black knots...otherwise I probably would not have known
