I’ll never master hair glues - help

I’ve tried nearly every glue on the market for my hairline but always resort back to tape for obvious reasons. I decided to try Walker Ultra Hold clear glue last night.

The issue I’m having which I’m sure is me putting too thick of a layer is that once I hold down the hairline for 10 seconds there is an area that seeped through the lace which has caused an area of hair that is glued down. I tried to brush it out but it’s pulling hair out. The rest of my hairline is fine it’s just an area the size of maybe a dime.

Anyone know how to loosen the hair from the glue without taking the whole unit off or even the whole hairline?

It sounds like you are putting the base down on the glue before it is dry. The glue must be dry but tacky when you apply the lace - the consistency of the gum on a Post-It note.

Try dipping a comb in 99% isopropyl alcohol, and gently tease the stuck hair free.

Ohhh ok. I do actually have a hard time determining when is the right time to stick it down. I use a hair dryer to speed it up and really thought I had it dry enough.

When I touch the glue with my fingers I do NOT want any of the glue to raise up correct? Meaning I do not want to see a string of glue from my head to my finger?

"Dry but tacky".
That seems to be an english / american choice of words.
For example, Extreme Hold dries, but seems to be not tacky.
When you PRESS (!) it down on your skin it gives you a got hold.
I made a few tests by myself by glueing something like a piece of cardboard on my head. The bonding is very strong. Stronger than white glue
After two days and shower with cardboard its nearly impossible to put it off my head

I'm w the OP. I find glues intolerable. Application of White Glue isn't impossible or anything, but the cure time coupled w the messiness of removal is for the birds!

I didn't think something exceed Ghostbond until I tried Walker Ultra-Hold, which has left everything in my bathroom stuck together.

It's extremely difficult to get out of the hair, this clear nonsense. I doused my system w/ C22 & Dishsoap.

It seems oils are most effective at removing this trash.

Only problem for me is that I can't get rid of all of the old glue when cleaning the base. In certain small spots it will just stay in deeper (inbetween the lace holes or even a bit further) no matter how long I soak, scrub, wash with soap or dish washing liquid. But it doesn't actually change anything: it doesn't affect the bond (if it's not even under the base, but deeper), I don't think it makes the hair look different either. It's just disturbing to see that your cleaning work is not having a 100% effect.

My concern is that residual glue will breakdown & seep into the hair. If it were Ghostbond, fine. It's not that impossible to get out.

But getting clear glue off a lace base is the biggest b**ch I've ever met.

Do you know if the clear bond eventually breaks down & gets into the hair? Because I feel it would just be a disaster.
