Completely disagree with that statement, it's all bliss and fun until they stumble on a problem too complex for their willfully ignorant to solve.

Example: You get aggressive hair loss at the age of 16, and realize that you're already half-bald at the age of 19.

Before that, I believed that looks weren't that important in dating, that personality, wittiness, humor, etc. were what were required to seduce women. I believed bald men were respected and treated normally by the rest of society. I believe appearances didn't matter to get a job. I could go on.

My whole perspective on reality was shattered, and I had to rebuild it from the ground up.

And on top of it, I also fell for the natural treatment BS. And after that too, I was happy for like 6 months, because I had convinced myself that they were working and that I would never become bald.

Again, once reality hits you back in the face, you're in for an extremely tough ride, filled with major depression, panic attacks and sometimes even psychosis (since you cling to that alternate reality). It's no fun and no joke.

Ignore is bliss, yes, temporarily, once you are forced out of it, and believe me, you will, sooner or later, you will suffer a great deal of pain. The longer you've been in denial, the more violent the shock, and the greater the pain.

Do not make that mistake and choose to live in reality, now.
