I Think There Really Is No Hope For Me Now. Nothing Works.

Hi,

I'm somewhere around a Norwood 5, 5A, 5V. 38 Now and been losing my hair since about 21. It's mostly thin, not much receding (is that diffuse?).

Anyways, I tried all the DHT shampoos. Minoxidil, spironolactone Cream, Revivogen Night Serum. None worked, and I did them religiously every day for 8 months, as directed.

So now I just got wind of the research into protein prostaglandin D2 or PGD2. Had NO CLUE all this time about that scientific discovery. And now I have no clue which treatment to do to even STOP my current loss. I have given up on even GROWING hair.

I looked at Regenepure Shampoo. Should I maybe start with that? Or try the spironolactone Cream again?

I will do anything BUT FINESTERIDE...all else I would like suggestions PLEASE.

the only thing that has a strong chance of helping you is the one thing you refuse to use.

Many many men use it and the vast majority are fine with it.

With all due respect, if I was a 38year old, norwood 5, I would just give up and buzz t... but if your still desperate to have your hair back then Finasteride together with a quality hair transplant is your only option.

Finasteride will do a fantastic job at maintaining, and thickening up your existing thinning hair for at least a good 6 or 7 years, but it's never going to regrow hair where you have slick bald patches at the temples and frontal area, you need a hair transplant for that.

All those "DHT" shampoos, revivogen, spironolactone, "unproven on human treatments" are completely pointless results wise, when compared to the results you WILL achieve with finasteride, sure you get anecdotal reports of success with nw2 guys maintaining in their early 20s on all of that other stuff, but at your age and with your advanced stage of baldness you need the most aggressive, hard hitting, 100% proven hair loss treatment out there a.k.a. Finasteride... otherwise don't waste your time or any more money.

Thanks for the advice and honesty, but **** finasteride...I'm not dumping that crap into my body. So until something topical comes along or I save enough for a transplant, my shaved head will remain shaved. Cheers

Until you're part of a class action lawsuit because your pecker doesn't work. Not worth a risk at even 1%. I don't take those odds with my junk and I don't want to hear about how great it is or how I'm being overly cautious.

KT, just curious, if you develop a problem with your prostate, would you still avoid finasteride?

That's like saying," Hey, if you developed AIDS, would you still not consider AZT?"

If I actually DID develop an issue with my prostrate I would consider alternative means because I don't like pharmaceuticals in the first place.

Your question is one of the oddest straw men I've seen in a while to.

sounds like he's just another Propeciahelper. No point reasoning with them

You have over FIFTEEN HUNDRED posts on a FARKING hair loss forum. You have no life and this is your world. So when someone comes along stating they refuse to use finasteride, and ask for alternatives, a sharp guy like you says what you said.

You complete and utter FAILURE. Shut your mouth child.

So is it possible to get an answer here without a barrage of hostility because I refuse to use finasteride? Or is everyone going to act like finasteride salesmen or children?

Futhermore little boy. When someone comes here and asks an honest question either give an answer or get out of the way. I don't have time to waste with trolls who accuse people of this, that, or the other because he has success with something and feels he's a big man on the scene. There are a lot of people afraid of finasteride, it doesn't mean they're "infiltrating" or trying to stir **** up.

No sit in your corner and think about what you've done little boy.

actually, I rescind my advice. Please DO NOT take Finasteride at all, because I'd like to see you go completely bald (which you will).

You're welcome :)

I know I know. Agree with the "finasteride CREW" here or get voted down by the trolls who literally hang out ALL DAY in a HAIR LOSS forum berating people who ask questions.

"Say you're going on finasteride or shut the **** UP!"

It's almost like a script here.

Well.. there are natural alternatives. But even the docs..at least those with half a brain and not needing to make money off of 'scripts ;) ...would tell you to get off finasteride once you've gotten things under control. Heck..some actually even suggest the natural route instead of or after the finasteride and suggest a healthy lifestyle and exercise etc :woot:

I don't go around attacking those taking or pushing finasteride anymore...like I did in the old days. But my opinions haven't changed...

Is this guy for real? Doctor and QC are two of the nicest and knowledgeable guys on here. They were giving friendly advice, not pushing anything, and you decided to blow. Maybe all those years of balding has caused a tremendous amount of anger to be internalized so he lashes out on the internet at "little boys" who disagree with him.

he seems to get worked up very easily, doesn't he?

KT you should chill out a bit - all the angst and stress will make your hair fall out... oh wait. Never mind

QC and Ladysmanfelpz, when I said there is no hope for KT, I mean there is no hope if you know what I mean. Hint: Lost cause, don't waist your time. Look he even agreed, with me by saying I know I know. So my point was he knows he is doomed and nothing you can say is going to make things better for him. He told us nothing he tried works. That's because he is not going to use something that has been internationally proven to work. I totally understand his concern as I really don't want to take Propecia either but I know this is the only drug that the entire world of hair transplant doctors experts feel is your only hope to keep most of your hair or slow down hair loss. His loss is way too advanced anyway for Propecia really to make a huge difference in his situation. Only a hair transplant can do that for now. Plenty of men get transplants and don't take Propecia. Not a wise decision but if it makes them happy, that is the most important thing. On that note, let the crickets keep chirping in this thread.
