i'm a 23 year old guy, having male pattern baldness myself trying treatments
propecia already on 1 year 2 months, i didnt think it did much, but i cant say it did not do much, since i had massive losses previoulsy.
minoxi i used since mid jan, once per day, stopped in may, had terrible itch, in fact i dont even know why i could last for 5 months, its crazy, i think it did more damage in terms of dandruff and itchiness, no improvement, i attribute to that and maybe cause i applied once per day application
order minoxi without proplyene glycol from dr lee since 4th june, into start of my 4th week now, pretty obvious decreased density this week (cause when i stop minoxi with ppg during end of may was only around 10, now the shed is near 30. i dont think the '100 loss per day is normal' theory applies to everyone) and most importantly, the lowered density at the centre vertex of the head recently is quite obvious
so the above is really just saying im still trying out the best treatment for myself, and hanging on, that's an essential barrier to tell my brother he's thinning. some issues its not easy because :
1) i have been on so much treatments yet and im still trying to get a good one. spent $5k over the past 3 years. Everyone at home knows im trying alot of things,in that sense, it's hard to convince him of the treatment im using, propecia and minoxidil if i decide to tell him. How do i tell him when im not there yet?
2) he knows im having this treatment, and he kind of encourages me in some way by being sensitive in this area. I noticed he combs his hair, (which would prompt me some concern over the top area) but it seems to me that he doesnt feel there is any issue. perhaprs he combs the way he combs his hair. he is in the early stages. but it is easy to see the hair weight down at the centre portion of the hair
3) There was once we went to see our biological grandfather once some year ago in another country, and he has a horseshoe shaped, (fyi my dad's thinned(not totally)) my brother has some knowledge of genetic things but there was once i asked if he remembered the hair of biological grandfather, he forgotten about it, so i doubt he'll remember any genetic reasons to caution himself
4) when he has issues, it can affect him much, he has some issues of late for his work and his house renovations, duties and marriage coming at the end of the year, there's alot of planning involved and it gets rough on him, i had thought of telling him at a later date:
5) i just want to prove the treatment works
6) and I'd hate to be the one to burst his bubble
hope to read your advice thanks
