You can't take progesterone, it will shut you down.

Switch to Topical Finasteride at 0.025%, the only tolerable dose that is effective against hair loss

I can't tell you about Pregnenolone, try it and see if it helps

I also had insomnia and had to take sleeping pills on oral finasteride and dutasteride
I appreciate your reply.

So you had to take the sleeping pills daily? Can you suggest one?

What dose of sleeping pills were you on?

Are you on now topical or oral finasteride?

Please give me all the useful information...

You need to see a Dr.

I can't go around recommending you what to take unless it's natural or share my experience with hair loss drugs if you are already on them.

I can only recommend you what NOT to take, like progesterone.

Instead of taking sleeping pills you should solve the root of the problem. Switch to Topical finasteride, take 400mg magnesium and Melatonin 2 hours before bed time. Turn off computer screens and blue lights 2 hours before. Do some cardio or workout and have a nice hot shower. This will all help your body relax and get it ready to rest.

Sleeping pills are a one way street.

Legit advice.

But considering this, why haven't you tried topicals like finasteride or cb? Instead you're on oral + sleeping pills?

I have, I started with sleeping pills way before topicals were available

I plan to get off them gradually. Right now I can't afford not to sleep as I need to be fully functional during the day with a lot of work but I am planning on taking a break soon for a month to slowly reduce the dosage and get into a sleeping routine naturally.

Are there other people here trying this out ? I am using Tongkat Ali alongside topical finasteride since a few weeks (400mg/day of TA, and 1ml/day of Essengen 6-plus from minoxidilmax), and I observed a really strong improvement of my libido and the quality of my erections. However, I am concerned about the effectiveness of finasteride if I continue to take Tongkat Ali. I havn't seen any increase in shedding yet, but as balding is a slow process it is impossible de to be sure for now. The articles I found on the net have contradictory statements, some say tongkat ali doesn't have any effect on DHT, and some others say it does... I don't really know what to trust

Not sure where to post this, but on the subject of side effects, for those that have experience the sexual ones, is it more a case that erections aren't as strong or frequent? For those that experienced this quite bad like how bad was it? Could you still get a descent erection whilst watching p**rn? I found I had no problem with this, though the slightest distraction would start to weaken it. Also I noticed that I don't get those embarrassing insta-boners whilst out and about. Something has changed though in a way I feel a bit more chilled, less agitated and not horney all the time which was a major distraction in life. I think when I was at my horniest just before taking finasteride that was when I really noticed my hair-loss accelerate.

If the Tongat Ali does work that would be great. I'd be interested to hear what say the hairloss show would say about it if they haven't covered it already.

10mg Pregnenolone - Mon to Fri
400mg Tongkat Ali - Mon to Fri
5mg Cialis 3 times a week.

This, plus staying below 12% body fat plus taking a sensible dose (0.25mg EOD or 0.025% EOD) should minimize side effects from Finasteride. Both brain fog, erection quality and estrogen spikes.

for me on 0.025% topical I am completely impotent. p**rn does not help, with a lot of effort I can achieve a full and normal erection but it subsides within seconds without manual manipulation and also with manual manipulation within a minute. its hard to get blood in the penis at all. for me on the topical I also feel no difference to oral. I used oral 2.5mg and topical 0.025% and the sides are exactly the same.

What's the use of Pregnenolone?

Can't it help with producing more progesterone?

I had insomnia and weaker erections whilst on finasteride. Can supplementing pregnenolone help me?

I've talked to you before about insomnia, you said you were taking sleeping pills which you don't encourage... I'm trying to find another way to offset the nasty sides.

It produces more progesterone, since finasteride is blocking the path to Allopregnanolone it can improve brain fog and mod, it also increases my libido, not a cure but it helps and won't shut you down.

For sleep I am still taking sleeping pills but plan to get off them, however, I need to gradually lower it and stick to a strict routine of cardio or weights 4 hours before bed time followed by a light meal with carbs (I sleep better with carbs than protein), hot shower, no blue lights and take melatonin with magnesium 1 hour before (400mg of Magnesium makes me sleep)

I also stop caffeine now after by 12 since the half life is long, no more coffee after breakfast regardless if I am tired.

Sleep is major issue on finasteride-dutasteride so I am looking into CB0301 and Saw Palmetto Mesotherapy plus Oral Minoxidil or Topical Trichoxidil

Need to find a balance between good quality of life and keeping the hair that I have.

so what do people think is the pathway by which finasteride inhibits erections? is it a lack of DHT or rather a rise in estrogen? I read estrogen can have a detrimental effect on erectile function if too high but it can also support the function by being an inducer of nitric oxide synthase.

obviously androgens like DHT act in the penile tissue as vasodilators primarily by acting as transcription factors for eNOS and nNOS in endothelial cells and neurons in the penile tissue. however I come to wonder, whenever something is said about 5AR2 expression, penile tissue is never mentioned. it is always just the liver, the prostate, skin and some other fringe tissue. however never reproductive organs. so I come to wonder, it is really serum DHT that is important to keep erectile function? clearly the penis is not a major 5AR site like the scalp. so in this case DHT would act more like an endocrine instead of a paracrine hormone? its really not clear

BNB what where your erections like just before going on finasteride? How long into it did you realise you were impotent? Also how old are you roughly?

I've been taking saw palmetto alongside finasteride. Does saw palmetto cause erectile disfunction in any way?

they were fine. I could easily get one and hold them without physical stimulation for many minutes. no it requires constant manual stimulation and that is most of the time not enough. it is also much harder to get. subsides very quickly. sometimes its impossible at all. I am 25. it usually comes about 7-12 days into oral finasteride, with topical it takes around 2 weeks until I notice and 3 weeks until a full impotence sets in. its pretty wild, weaker erections fine but this is quite extreme in my case. especially for a topical approach one might think. I tried to tackle this the scientific way but im failing at it because nothing makes sense anymore. thats why I am asking, the science of DHT in erectile function is rather blurry just like most things

Yeah does sound pretty extreme, especially at 25. For some reason I thought you'd be much older to experience this sort of thing, though I guess age has nothing to do with it. I'm almost 45 and been on the finasteride for 1.5 months and the first three weeks the erections were weak AF but are getting better and holding for longer each day.

I'd suggest working on the psychology, so the mental stimulation. I went through a bad stage in my 20's where I had terrible IBS and it was a real boner killer. It started with a really bad night with a girl I just met and gone to her place where her toilet was next to her bed and it had no door! My IBS was bad and the stress of not using her toilet resulted in terrible sex. From then on my mind was convinced the same thing would happen every time I went back to a different chicks place and I really struggled to maintain a decent erection. I think my mind was constantly thinking I wasn't going to get it up and the signals were telling the blood not to go down there. It was only when the IBS went away (or I didn't care as much) things down below went back to normal, in fact better than normal, once I got out of that mindset.

Even now watching prn on its own doesn't do much, though if my imagination is firing off and I'm expecting the boner to happen it happens and lately it's been stronger than ever. For a while on finasteride they were really weak and I was starting to panic, though a brief fantasy ran through my head one night and downstairs went turbo and held for ages, then after that my mind was convinced it will happen again and it did. Anyway, not saying this is the cure but something that worked for me.. so far.

yeah ive had some ED issues in the past even without finasteride. I guess that contributes to it as well.

Why have you mentioned to take Pregnenolone only 5 times a week (from Monday to Friday)?

Should I take it the same minute I take finasteride?

Btw I plan on taking finasteride 3 times a week, so I take Pregnenolone on the same three days plus 2 more days?

Are you using topical Minoxdil? Can Minoxdil halt the DHT itch? I read some where it has a little bit of androgenetic properties.

I just wanted to follow up as I am now at almost 2 months of a full dose propecia with Tongat Ali and I have had zero propecia side effects. It is now irrefutable to me that Tongat Ali has been an enormous benefit and seemingly will allow me to continue to take a full dose propecia without side effects for the first time. And I've tried many many times over the years.
Week it's not surprising. Omega 3 or fish oil accounts the same effect when taken with finasteride for me

I have fairly light facial hair. I am actually using rogaine to try to thicken it up a bit (I've seen progress but it's very slow). I have noticed it felt like when I would go on propecia my facial hair would thin out a bit and I haven't noticed that happen with the Tongat Ali. But the changes in facial hair is a bit too subtle for me to say one way or the other with a high degree of confidence.

I feel like it helped me a bit but the big thing that I have zero doubt it helped with was some of the more common side effects like gyno. The difference in that was not subtle. My chest would start to get very sensitive within days of taking even a quarter dose before.
Correct me if I am wrong. Inhibiting dht will cause thinning of facial hair? If that's the case I don't know how tonkat Ali helps with that.

My libido never really took a huge hit from propecia but maybe because I never did it for long enough at a high enough dose. I will say since starting the Tongat Ali and propecia at a regular dose, my libido has been higher than normal. My guess is with propecia blocking Testosterone from converting to DHT and the Tongat Ali blocking Testosterone from converting to Estrogen... My Testosterone is probably pretty high right now.
Be careful with messing with testesterone levels. If there is excess testesterone, when u stop any of the treatment the excess may manifest in increased dht .

man. i have now lowered the dosage to 0.01% topical finasteride and I still see complete ED side effects. it is beyond me how this can be the case but it is
