I Don't Know If Finasteride Is Affecting My Memeory?

I'm a second year university student and have an exam tomorrow, even though I've revised I'm finding it harder to recall information. I'm not sure if that's down to second year being harder, maybe I'm imagining it.

Drowsiness and feeling tired are listed as side effects for finasteride. finasteride gave me brain fog so I guess it's possible

Definitely possible, but I wouldn't blame it for failing your exams (if you do) ". That's all on you. How did it go anyway?

I'll see in 2 hours lol but I don't think I'll fail it I just wanted a 70% average which would be a top grade but 60% is fine as well. The only way I can explain it is that it seems a bit harder to recall facts, maybe it might be because I've only been getting 5 hours of sleep for the past week because I've been revising so much.

I don't plan to be on it that long maybe 1 or 2 years until shesido comes out this year which it should do hopefully.

I remember having had issues with memory recall on Finasteride for at least the first 6 months. It eventually went away though. Last month I memorised my 16 digit bank card number and I can still recall it with little effort, maybe that’s a bad example but I don’t think I would have been able to do that when I had just started finasteride.

Yeah definitely possible! The first like 4 months I was forgetting all kinds of basic stuff like were I parked my car, phone, keys, thoughts etc... After a while it got better or maybe I just got used to it! And I know its fina because clonazepam also gave me brain fog and it's almost the exact same "feeling" I'm having now on fina...

I can still do stuff like that I know my credit card and stuff I've stopped finasteride until my exams are over so plaining to get back on it in two weeks. But I've been on it 5 months at 0.5mg.

I can do the stuff, just feels harder to remember a sh*t load of exam material. Not sure how much of that is down to second year being harder. All finasteride's done so far is is weaken my erection and give me watery semen. It's a tough predicament, I just want it to maintain my hair until shesido comes out, I think they're making an announcement in 4/5 months. I've just been under severe stress for the past week, had an exam today, got one tomorrow and the day after.

Everyone is different so it could be just stress i guess... But if you have other sides maybe you have that one too! But when you finish your exams and stress less and sleep more you will see if it continues or not and most importantly, if the sides are worth the result it's giving you.
Btw I also have watery semen plus a reduction in volume, but the erections are the same.

As for shisedo I really don't think any real treatment will be out to the general public before 2021... I hope I'm wrong, but these claims by the companies have been going on forever now... So be prepared to stay on fina for awhile and even on fina, 3 or 4 years fighting male pattern baldness is a looooong roller-coaster ride ! :(

9 months have changed my hair density drastically for me.. So yeah.... It's not been a great experience..

Changed density for the better?

I’m really concerned Finasteride will destroy what little density I have left.

I've always felt spaced out since starting the drug, I've been on and off it 2 times and then decided to stick with it up and till now. I still plan on taking it but I might take it every other day to see if that helps. The first side effect I noticed was watery semen and then 'brain fog' it feels like I'm always spaced out. This was more noticeable at first but I've kind of gotten used to it. I think the spaced out thing might be to do with my anxiety/depression, while it's true that I did feel spaced out after taking the drug it had only been 3 days into taking it when it started so i'm not sure. was also extremely stressed from doing an assignment around that time so it's hard to attribute it to one thing. I don't notice the memory thing in day to day life, only when revising. I can still recall stuff said from conversations and remember small things to do during the day.

It's good it's working for you, my hair's still shedding but it's only been 5 months. I agree with you on the snake oil companies but a lot of people are optimistic about shesido on here. I know it's not a sure shot but it's promising. They've nearly finished their phase 2 trial and phase 1 already showed some promising results, but that was mainly testing the safety. The plan is to announce the results and if they're successful then they can begin to commercialise it.

yeah, I honestly and unbiasedly think that finasteride notably altered my brain in a couple ways. I would have trouble carrying a perfectly coherent conversation like I used to and it lowered my ability to retain information. I remember studying the Spanish language and forgetting lessons I learned the previous day. That's not like me. I've always had an ability to absorb info. Usually the next day it would be even stronger. It got a lot better when I went off it.

No bro, my density changed for the worse :\ I've lost so much density this past months ... Not a day goes by where I don't think I should've stopped on my 6 month.. Density was never an issue for me... Now ... damn!
But since I'm almost at month 10, I will go a full year or so just so I can say I gave it a good shot... I will only stop before that if I have to buzz my hair due to the thinning.

Yeah, finasteride made me feel like I was high on clonazepam... Short term memory was a messed up in the beginning but that side is mostly gone nowadays!

Well I had my second exam today. I could remember more than I thought I'd be able to. I think it's partly due to the fact I'm extremely stressed I've had my 2 exams in a row and I've got my 3rd tomorrow.

I'm not sure how finasteride would make your hair worse.

Do you remember posting this thread?

yeah lol it's not that bad
