I am recruiting a group of young people with androgenetic alopecia for a study of the treatment of androgenetic alopecia with progesterone gel.
Finasteride doesn't work, but progesterone is a human hormone that should work.It won’t work
What do you mean finasteride doesn't work? Why would progesterone be more effective than finasteride?Finasteride doesn't work, but progesterone is a human hormone that should work.
Progesterone is a biologically active 5-alpha reductase inhibitor in humans. Furthermore, it undergoes a chain of reactions via 5-alpha reductase. When 5-alpha reductase is occupied by progesterone, it converts it into dihydroprogesterone (allopregnenolone), a hormone associated with calm and sleep. If 5-alpha reductase is occupied by finasteride, it cannot convert progesterone into dihydroprogesterone and allopregnenolone. You will experience poor sleep and panic attacks. Without allopregnenolone, nerve endings become exposed, and lower back and joint pain are possible. This is one of the side effects of finasteride: the lack of allopregnenolone. What do you mean finasteride doesn't work? Why would progesterone be more effective than finasteride?
