It was mid August last year when i took a shower and noticed clumos of hair coming out. Ay first i thought it was nothing. I went to the derma. She told me that its because of stress and my dandruff. She gave me clobetasol and said that it usually resolves after 2-3 months. 6 months later my hair still keeps on shedding that i barely have any hair left. I was so depressed during this time that suicide was on my mind. So i went to another dermatologist last january and She said that i have chronic telogen effluvium. She then ordered ft3, ft4 and tsh tests. It was then when i found out that i have hashimotos thyroiditis. The dermatologist prescribed minoxidil and the endocrinologist supplemental thyroid hormones in order to help ease or stop the telogen effluvium. I started using it last march. And my god its been a life changer. Last may i started to notice a big decrease in hair loss whenever i shower. My hair loss has been stable since then. There has been slight improvement with regards to my hair density. However i dont know how long the stability will last. I fear the day the shedding will come back. But until then ill be very thankful to the Lord up above for giving me another chance to have hair. To those who are going through something similar. Just pray and leave it up to god.
