Is it even possible to make this far recession even a little better? Just worried about myself tbh. What if it really will go that far???

It must be possible to at least turn him back to Norwood 4.

I dont think it possible case for partial hair system - his only option is full cap.
anyway this type of recession occur in very old age most of the times so idk how much he really care in this age about his hair

I am not usually a fan of hair tattoos, but I thought this advert was quite interesting. You can see from the bottom picture (helped by a slight colour mismatch) that without his hairpiece the guy has very little hair left. With such depleted and receded sides, his piece would ordinarily look totally unbalanced and fake. But with the tattooed temple points he is able to wear a full-coverage topper, and visually it looks OK. I am not sure how convincing the tattooed sides would be close-up, but somehow even if you are aware that the temples are artificial, they somehow rescue the hairpiece from looking fake in the top photo.
