Hi all -
Descriptive, keyword-rich Thread Titles don't only help this community grow by ranking pages better. They result in more people seeing your question, which results in you getting help faster.
When you create a new Thread, picture yourself writing a title that makes people curious to click. A title that shows up when they search for certain keywords. Google will take that title and push it higher because its so awesome.
Write a short sentence. At least 7 words. Spell the words out. Minoxidil vs Min. Propecia vs. Propecia. Male Pattern Baldness versus male pattern baldness. If you do this your title will rank much better. Titles that rank better bring more people to the community. The more people that are here, the more useful this place becomes.
Most of our threads rank well, but they don't always look so great! Here are some examples of bad titles: https://www.google.com/#q=site:https://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/&start=60
Nobody is going to click those!
We've implemented a modification that will encourage you to fill at least 35 characters when you write a new title. Take advantage of the opportunity to write a short sentence that makes people curious to click. Here are some examples of great thread titles:
