pending the results of blood work both from my dermatologist and primary care doctors, I have decided to shave my head down to the bare skin.. and this is the haircut I will follow until my doctors are able to determine for sure what is causing my hair loss..
I look halfway decent bald.. im gonna tone up a bit, workout, build some muscle.. so the look goes with the body.. im not scrawny now, I weigh about 200lbs and I'm 6'1.. tho I do need to drop 25lbs of fat and add 50lbs of muscle..
one thing I've noticed is, when you shave your head, your ears can appear to petrude irregularly.. probably because when you have a full head of hair it helps fill the gap between your ears and your skin.. I do not look like dumbo at all but I think I would look a lot better with a minimal otoplasty procedure which I may elect to have done in the future if I am to remain bald from here to my grave..
I do have a few questions for your guys who already do shave your heads or those who have done so in the past..
1) eyebrows
my eyebrows appear thicker/bushier than ever.. I have no beard, mustaches or anything of the like, just a baby face I keep clean.. I'm sure this is why they standout to me.. My hair color is dark brown, and my eyebrow color is virtually the same.. I'm thinking about plucking my eye brows and dying it's color to lighten them up a bit.. i think it would match the skin color better.. what would you guys suggest?
2) ridding of the shineyness on the scalp
when you shave your head, you can see a reflection of light etc that dimly shines off your scalp... what I've done is, after shaving my head, I've applied johnsons baby powder and rubbed it in as best as I could.. I'm assuming the shine is created by oils in the scalp skin that rush to the surface.. the baby powder works but it only lasts so long.. does anyone know if its possible to achieve a very dull scalp appearance so that the skin doesnt reflect light like a glass lake? I think it makes your appearance a hell of a lot better.. but this is just my opinion
3) what is the best razor to use?
for those of you who have shaved your head or seen people with shaved heads, you'll notice a lot of times you can see the outline of where that person still has growing hair and where they do not.. now I'm sure its the color of your hair that defines this area cause the slightest penetration of your growing hair on your scalp and you're sure to notice a difference.. does anyone know what razor I can use daily to ensure my head appears entirely shaved without having that "outline" around the back of my head and top of my head still clearly showing the bald spots? I've used mach3 in the past, it works good but I'm wondering if theres anything better..
any other advice you can give me to looking good with a shaved head I'd appreciate.. thanks much
