Hello,

I sow some well known youtube guy -HairExperience- saying that on the daily shower he also rinse his hair system with clean water, no shampoo , and that every morning he uses spray conditioner (with UV protection) and only washes his hair system with shampoo every 3-6 days. Its not to excessive to rinse the hair system every day ? How about daily spray conditioner ? Isn't too abusive ? I have a french lace and I need to to last as many months as possible, I was planning to wash it every 6 days, the guy from the mentioned youtube channel is using poly hair system which last for 3-5 week (based on his statement), Im not sure if doesn't give a damn about his piece but I need my french lace to last several months ! Some guys having short hair system can last for 1 year !

I shampoo my piece once a week (off my head), rinse it just with warm shower water (on my head) 4 or 5 times a week, and use a leave-in conditioner any day I am going to be outdoors (which is the majority of days). I get about 5 months out of my units. I don't think rinsing with warm water alone causes any deterioration provided you are not rough when you dry it afterwards.

Your rebounding every week? Remind me which adhesive you use?

I wash the hair on average once a week. I don't rinse it in between. Also many times I don't even use shampoo (on the system) - I just let water run through and then I use conditioner and wash that out.

As with Noah, I also get around 5 months from a system.

Thanks guys, how about leave-in conditioner, beside Noah do you all use daily leave-in conditioner ? When do you know the system needs to be changed , lack of density due to lost hair ?

What leave-in conditioner do you use ? I keep see people mentioning all the time Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure Sun Protect and Revlon Equave with UV, are they the best for hair systems ? Other people like Jalal managed to make their unit last 1,3 years and counting without any UV protection leave-in conditioner but only regular conditioner used every 5 days. When I thought that I found how to keep my unit last for a year with daily UV protection leave-in conditioner, 5 times a week rinse with water, every 5 days wash it with OGX Argan oil of Morocco shampoo , every 10 days reattach -, then I found posts like this one where it says that he barely uses leave-in conditioner... . Will the daily use of UV protection leave-in conditioner (or regular without UV protection) reduce the hair system life ?

This is the stuff I use. For me, it's basically just a way of getting high factor sunscreen onto the hair in a way that doesn't make the hair heavy and greasy looking. If I was just concerned to keep the hair supple and conditioned, I would use argan oil.

I think the 3 biggest causes of deterioration in your system, in order of importance, are (a) sun-damage; (b) over-frequent washing with shampoo; and (c) pulling the piece off without fully releasing the adhesive bond. So I think a good sunscreen very much improves the longevity of the system.

You pull the hairs out, or you pull them through the lace to the underside, where they are useless.
