Hi guys. Ive been applying minoxidil to my thinning and receding hairline for the past 5 months and have yielded some results. But my hairline is still continueing to recede despite new hairs sprouting up. Ive been applying .5ml to each side of the hairline, so 1ml in total morning and night. Have I been applying too much minoxidil given that one 1ml is the recommend dose for the entire head? Maybe my hairline has continued to thin due to shedding from over application of minoxidil? Should I lower the dose to .25ml to each side off the hairline or just be patient and keep going. I just feel as though my hairline is worse than when i started on minoxidil and its worse in the areas where the minoxidil is applied. Im also taking .5mg propecia once a day for 5 weeks now. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds to me you doing all you can be doing at the moment. It supposedly take up to a year before the effect kicks in, so give it some time. :) If you read the success stories on this forum you can probably find some similar stories. Any side effects by the way ?

The only side effect I can attribute to propecia is when I first started I had a slight ball ache as others have reported. It would come and go but has since gone away and ive had no other sides. Had I known id of started propecia 6 months ago. No sides from minoxidil other than shedding and thinning of the hairline but thats means its working. Its just weird. You lose your hair in order to regain.
