How long does it take for minoxidil to absorb?

How long does it take minoxidil liquid to fully absorb?

ive been dissing it on last thing at night after my shower. However it makes my hair a bit "fizzly" in the morning. Ive been thinking maybe putting it on around 9pm 2 hours before my nightly shower - would this be adquate time or would that serve to remove some of it ?

I also think that doing it this way would help my scalp not get as flaky as it has been getting lately (yes im using nizoral) because ive drenched my head every night and let it soak all night...

Well apply it a bit earlier, just put it on your head at least 3 hrs before goung to bed. I use kirkland and i build in 4hrs before bed

unfortunately this flaking your getting is due to the alcohol and ppg and is needed to enable minoxidil to penetrate the scalp to enable more effective absorbtion. The ppg keeps it moisturised and saturated long enough for the minoxidil absorb into your scalp. I would expect the longer it is left on your scalp the better. You can get minoxidil without ppg in the brand name of xandrox 5% with azelaic acid. Im not sure how it keeps minoxidil saturated on to the scalp long enough to enable effective absorbtion but i do know it doesnt give you a flaky scalp and doesnt stay on your scalp as long. I have used it and can testify to this but it still gave me some irritation (maybe an allergic reaction to the azelaic acid used in it).
