How Long Does It Take For Dutasteride To Start Working?

So I've been on DUTA for roughly a month now, when am I to expect the "dreaded shedding phase", does that usually occur during the three month mark? Because as far as I can tell I haven't really lost that much more/less hair than when i began taking the dutasteride pills.

Usually around month 7 or 8 is when most people tend to notice a shed on finasteride or dutasteride. Be patient.

For me, it was immediately after I started, around 2-3 weeks after my first pill. But still, I'm not sure if it's miniaturization or a shed, so I may be wrong.

Did you do finasteride before?

Yup, 7 years. First 2-3 years amazing results but then slowly losing ground and last year was insane tbh, have no idea what happened to my hair. After 2 years of propecia I thought I would never have to worry about my hairloss again. Lol I was wrong.

Why are your hairline getting worse at the 11 week mark when jumping from finasteride to dutasteride? You have already suppressed some of that DHT, at worst you could experience some shedding at certain periods like jumping on dutasteride and sure, 11 weeks specifically but not for an entire 2 months and some?

That’s a million dollar question. Now I’m at 5 months mark and it’s getting worse and worse. Not sure if I understand you on that 2 months... shedding is slowing down now but my hair still looks very bad...

I see, so you used finasteride and it was effective for 2 years and then it went downhill and made the swap to dutasteride but you have yet to recover properly and it's going pretty slow, even the shedding is not slowing down that fast either? :(

No, I started using finasteride 8 years ago. First 2 years my hair was almost without any signs of hairloss. Then after a second, maybe a third year, things slowly started receeding again but nothing noticable. 2016-2017 was one of my most stressful periods of my life ( still continues ) and it all went downhill. Than I started dutasteride 5 months ago and my hair is worse than ever.

Because like I told you, thats not how it works. The moment finasteride went out of his system, dht came back full force. From the moment he quit finasteride till present, his hair is taking a beating from DHT. Dutasteride cannot compensate in such a ridiculously short period of time.

IMO what he's going through is not a dutasteride shed, but unprotected hair loss from switching.

That's why i'm taking finasteride and dutasteride together for a year.

Also this idea that he should be seeing improvement after 11 weeks is absolutely crazy. Even finasteride takes 6 months to even BEGIN working for most people. dutasteride likely takes longer, like I said 1 full year on dutasteride would be sufficient time.

Why are people getting results after two months then? Nothing is a given... some respond early, some respond later, others doesn't respond at all. People are different.
